Well, although technically they just do that, it usually has negative connotations. I'm guessing it's because of the christian inquisition, especially the Spanish ome, who mercklessly tortured whoever said anything that conflicted the word of the church.

Which is exactly what the Vigil of Stendarr are all about, although their intentions may have started somewhat noble coming out of the Oblivion Crisis. They are nothing more than tolerated Thalmor Justiciars.

Heresy is whatever conflicts with the views of the Church or faith.

Well, considering the Daedra are just as bad as Alduin albeit more subtle, I'd classify the Vigil as "the good guys".

Alduin is basically an aspect of Akatosh, no matter how much the Nords try to claim he isn't. The only reason Alduin was "evil" was because he turned from his destiny to end the world and chose to rule it as a living Tyrant-God.

Daedra are no worse than Aedra. Just that Daedra can influence things more directly due to them not being weakened because they did not take part in the creation of Mundas.

The Vigil of Stendarr are as far from "the good guys" one could get, they're doing exactly what the Thalmor Justiciars are doing and they are tolerated because it is against a religion not as well liked or properly understood.

One could argue Daedra are the reason the Imperial Empire has been able to last this long, providing their aid and powerful artifacts to heroes and even Emperors.

I like the Order of the Virtuous Blood, so by extension the Dawnguard. The concept of regular people being able to face the supernatural evil is pretty cool.

Between them and the Dark Brotherhood it is a toss up.

For me as a person: The Dawnguard. This is a faction I could support and join myself if I were a Skyrim citizen.
For me as a gamer: The Thieves Guild. I love their questline and I love stealth. Do I need to say more?

I understand powerful artifacts to heroes, Martin required one to open his portal to Mankar's paradise, but what direct aid have the Daedra provided the empire?

In the 2 Elder Scrolls games I've played I'd have to say the Dark Bruh-hood, Volkihar Vamps (the Dawnguard was pretty cool as well), Thieves Guild, Stormcloaks (I actually like them even though they're all about Nords, but I went with the Empire because, you know why). Last but not least, the Ebonheart Pact alliance in ESO, badass name, the 3 most badass races (Argonians being the most badass lol) a dope High King leading it, need I say more?

The Dragon Knight
Easy! Companions hands down! I mean, who wouldn't want to join a guild originating from the legend Ysgramor himself full of over-glorified beefy Nordic warrior badasses whom are widely respected throughout the entirety of Skyrim?!

Plus being a werewolf has its perks :p

Yeah I guess it's cool to be a werewolf and be widely respected and be in a legendary guild and all... But what about knowing you're nothing but a mercenary?
