Mighty Pecan Pie

The secret American
I remember this one time, going into a dungeon I've been in a few times already. Usually I'm pretty good at remembering which enemies are where. This time though...

I was just dinking around, waltzing through the nordic ruin when the music stopped. I thought, "Huh, weird." I waited for a few seconds for the infamous sound of a draugr growling. Nothing. I continued down the corridor thinking "I got this. Ha, nothing is gonna get me." (Decent level character mind you)

Then all of a sudden, before my mind could process what was making that sound I heard running wet feet behind me, so I spun around and two big ass blue glowing eyes are right in my face, with rotten ugly teeth wide open along with a sword through my belly. Scared the FIDDLESTICKS out of me.

One might think, "How is that scary?" Well, no music, sound turned up to 30 on the tv which is LOUD due to 360 being loud in settings, having very loud footsteps that sound like they are literally RIGHT BEHIND YOU kinda freaks you out.

I was very thankful I invested in a good set of armor. Yesh. Afterwards I decked him and muttered, "son of a bitch, scaring me like that.." and went on my marry way.

Don't recall getting good loot though. You'd think you would get some good loot after nearly having your heart stop.
That's why I rarely play in 1st person; only for archery. The rest of the time I travel or use melee in 3rd person.

Time for some ale
On Skyrim it's usually the bloody sabercats.

I actually jump more playing Oblivion. Especially in Aylied ruins. There was this one filled with trolls, and I knew I could hear one, so I finally turned around to look for it, didn't find it and thought hmmm... must be in the next room or something. So I turn around and BAM it hits me! I jumped in my chair and exclaimed HOLY SHH**T!! :beermug:

I was clearing out a burial urn in some gods forsaken crypt, I turn around and BOOM! Draugr with an axe. Snuck up on me like whoa. -_- Nearly pee'd my pants in-game and out.

Ah! And at the end of the "The Final Descent" quest. Open the chest and BAM! That damn Zahkriisos shows up. Again, almost pee'd my pants. That moment inspired a scene with one of my OCs.

Oh, and let's not forget the one that gets us all eventually... In a dungeon, sneaking...sneaking...sneaking... *dadump* SNEAK INCREASED TO XX. Sneaking...sneaking... LEVEL UP SOUND OUT OF NOWHERE!

I was at stage 4 vampirism (no dlc installed so attacked by npcs on sight). I thought I was safe because I was just running through the wild on my way to my next adventure when I was suddenly attacked by a wolf, No problem right? so i killed him in one hit but the combat music was still playing .I tried to wait but couldn't because their was "enemies nearby". I thought it was a glitch and ignored it but seconds later I was hit by an arrow that one-hit killed me. I nearly jumped out of my seat.As my body fell to the ground I caught a glimpse of a hunter in the distance with a bow in his hand. I never let myself get to stage 4 vampirism again

Mine was gargoyles in Castle Volk. I knew it was an enemy but it didn't move. I crept close hit it and everything. Once I was sure it wasn't alive and just a stature, that is when it decides to activate. Scared myself plops less because it was a giant one too.

Ah! I forgot about them! They CAN get the jump on you...

Fighting a few Drauger Deathlords....then suddenly a Legendary Dragon lands right on the middle of us, and what makes it even worse is one of the Drauger decides to shout me off the mountain we we're on.

Stepping on plates that activate poison darts always gets me. It'll have been turning around with lightning speed trying to see where the darts will come from.

There was also this time I was ambushed by ash spawns. No combat music whatsoever, turned around and there was this ugly ash in mid swing

But my very first scare was Meridia's voice. I used "take all" to loot a draugr I killed and there she was in my head, no warning or greeting whatsoever. It was 2am and I had the lights off and my head phone was loud

The first time a Draugr "woke up" - unsurprisingly it was in Bleak Falls Barrow.

I remember I panicked so hard that I simply ran for it. Ran past the first Draugr, and its friends, and across the next room. At that point I had half a dozen Draugr after me. :D
Can't remember what happened next, though. :/

Wandering the wild with Lydia, just searching for more barrows to raid. Out of no where, I'm on fire and I'm spinning around trying to figure out what hit me.

A dragon. Always. A dragon.

I never get jumpscares. N.E.V.E.R. I have a natural resistance to those. "Ooh, that's scary, well whatever"

But today I played Dead space for the first time. I jumped about 10 times. Ended up jumping because of the sound the remote made when I dropped the remote without noticing.

How do you backstab a Dragon?

Lucky you. I don't normally jumpscare easily myself, but, since you mentioned another game, when I played Alien Resurrection, I had more heart stoppages than I even want to think about.

But today I played
another game

ugh, this does remind me of a time I legit nearly died while playing. So, its ~1998 orso, I'm 13 years old, and playing the original Unreal Singleplayer. My room is all dark, I got headphones on, and I'm not far from the start, still getting to know everything, and there are weird sounds, and screams in the distance, and everything is soooooo creepy to me who hadent much fps experience at that point. The fact that I had headphones on meant I didnt hear that my dad had come home from work, and he walked into my dark room, heavily putting his hand on my shoulder unanounced. I literally jumped and screamed like a little girl, swearing like a sailor. He laughed . Unreal was scary.

I've never heard of Alien ressurection but I'm not sure you realize what happened in the half hour I played(if you, well, damn). Let me show the part in which you first move:
[+18] [gore]
You wake up, and there's a guy looking at you, he says Oh good you're awake or something like that. The first thing I noticed was he had blood on his clothes, and when I tried to move the camera to watch behind him I caught a glimpse of chaos.

He seems like a nice guy and is about to cut your bindings when suddenly something comes out of nowhere and stabs him both in the back and the head(with the stabbing thing easily managing to come out though the forehead). The thing immediately leaves, but suddenly, through the forehead a wormlike stuff comes out, and then large arms come out of his back , ripping flesh and clothes, the skin on his face opens and he tries to kill you.
[+18 over]

I hope that gave you an idea. Now add to that absolute darkness and guys like him popping out of nowhere.

Yeah, now you got it.

Or, who knows, maybe you've already played it and I'm just making an ass of myself. Who knows.

Uhm... I hope you're still referring to a game, 'cause, if that was real life, yours is WAAAAYYYYY to interesting for my taste. :)
