Generally speaking, which part of the playthrough do you enjoy the most? Is it the very start, where you are struggling to even survive, the midgame where you are developing you character, or the end game leading to victory?

I usually find the period between Level 15-30 are the best for me, I have started to mold my character into a distinct individual, there are still so many choices to be made and the thrill of gaining a level, distributing perks and learning a new skill is still high. Soon after level 30 things tend to get predictable, I can usually survive encounters, have enough skills to get what I want, know what i need to do next etc.

So how about you? Which range do you prefer? 0-15, 15-30, 30-50, 50-81 or 81+

I absolutely love the process of creating a character. For me, this begins before I even start the game - thinking about who you want them to be and become, what they'll look like, what their behavior will be like is a lot of fun. Then I spend hours in character creation.

But it's also important to see them develop, see them change and achieve things that will affect them greatly in the context of their environment.

So to answer your question more precisely, I like the range of 0-30 most, because that's the time it takes to really establish a character.

How do you backstab a Dragon?
I love the first 20 levels or so when I am developing my character as a person. I always go off exploring instead of heading in to the quests (they build up quick) and build up my coin and abilities before I do anything else.

I find that it's the character development that I love the most. Sometimes I'm disappointed, but, usually I have a great time!

I would say within the level 30-50 interval. Your character by now is a unique individual with their own build and combat style, and the more interesting item sets become available around this time. Enemy diversity increases, and the game truly feels like what it aspires to be at this point; I feel like it lives up to the expectations we as fans initially set for it. There are more quests to be done and tales to be spun, of course, but you've at least made a bit of a name for yourself, and you've definitely come a long way from iron and leather.

Atheist Arch Mage
In no particular order..

1) Starting a new character, I love the leveling up process and gradually getting better stuff and doing unique things with each character.

2) This doesn't really count but, the nostalgia factor of the game is really near and dear to me.

3) The Sandbox feel to the game opposed to Oblivion and older Elder Scrolls games.

4) Being a Battlemage is my favorite kind of warrior, one handed, archery and magic are my 3 favorite skills.

5) Clearing caves and hideouts of bandits and vampires, I have one character where that's all she does, no missions, just a nomad.

6) Being able to Sprint, unlike the other Elder Scrolls games or Fallout games, I think it's essential to be able to run fast.

7) The sheer number of factions to join is awesome, there's flaws with it but I love this part. My favorites are the Companions and the Mage college.

8) Having a really high magic level so you almost never run out is really fun.

9) The music, while I wish there was more music I really love the sounds of the game, especially the music.

10) The quick menu is essential for me, I hate having to go into the menu all the time just to drink a potion.

I want to say so much more but I'll leave it there..

Kohlar the Unkilled

Time for some ale
After days of cogitation and contemplation, I still have not arrived at a definite answer. It seems that there are times which, for whatever reason, I'm just "feeling it." Unfortunately such times have become more rare as of late. I started feeling "it" again last night playing my newly reincarnated Kohlar, who is still early enough in the game to feel authentic trepidation. So I might say that the best part of the game starts around level 7, as some skills are beginning to develop, with the possibility of an untenable situation existing around every corner.

Conversely, I also admire the power of the characters that I've taken to heights of near god-like power. Unfortunately there isn't really much of interest remaining in the game for those characters to do. It's because of this that I intend to play the game differently with Kohlar this time around, leaving the DLC quests, (and possibly the main quest), for a time when he reaches that height of power. :beermug:

Like some others have said, I also enjoy the character creation process. I'm one of those who spends vast amounts of time making the face look a certain way. I don't always know ahead of time what the face will look like. I do hope that the next game in the series brings back the slide scale method of customizing features, rather than choosing from among several set versions of a feature.

I'd say 30-50, but also 50-81, because that is when I start doing the major side quests/properly exploring Skyrim (after I have completed the main questline, civil war, all of the guilds etc.) - it is a lot of fun to be known as Dragonborn, or Listener, it makes completing quests and slaying enemies a lot more fun, as by then I have good gear given the high level, and of course there is much more to discover even then. :D
But for me, 81+ is just the endgame stage, where I've done almost everything, been to most places and have some cool unique items as well as having a tonne of gold to boot. However, just going round killing things and completing radiant misc. quests/objectives following level 81 does bore me after a while

I never really get past level 30, so... Probably between 10 and 20. By that time I have a certain skill set planned out and I haven't yet began daydreaming about a new character. I really need to start putting more time into my characters, with some of the mods I use there's a lot of endgame stuff that I never get to use.

You seem a decent fellow. I hate to die.
I'd vote for the 30-50 range. Right about in that range my smithing and enchanting perks are ramping up, so I'm crafting more awesome weapons and armor, but not obnoxiously so. Not >cough< anyway yet >cough<.

And let's not forget the sneak and archery perk trees. Simply delicious.

I love when you have obtained enough strength in the game to be an influence in the world and you think to yourself, which obstacle would my character want to tackle now? Dragon crisis? Vampires? The war? Or should I keep helping the little people because if I can't help even a few citizens, what good am I to anyone else? Or even when you feel like you know your character and what that character has been through enough stick with decisions.

It's not often discussed, but I truly appreciate the fact that there are 100's (?) of books within the game that those true lore nerds like myself can actually sit and read. I ended tonight's session sitting with a few of these books. It seems a fitting way to bring the night to an end. :beermug:

I'm not sure in terms of level as it depends on the power of the build but I consider the best part of the game to be when I can clear out an entire dungeon with comfort although maintaining a sense of challenge and accomplishment .The stages before my character is too weak and dies too often and the stages after my character becomes too powerful (especially with stealth builds).

When you achieve around level 250+ and have every perk in every skill tree, basically a God, have a family, several houses dotted all around Skyrim, Leader of every faction, and then......!! You start over from scratch a enjoy the experience again! [emoji16] [emoji85]
