Who are those?

There the none playable faction that hates daedra and daedra worship they're sort of like a weaker version of the Dawnguard but they specialise in daedra, from what I can remember they worship the aedra sender. If you have the dawnguard they attempted to combat vampires which lead to their downfall with the whole of the hall of the vigilant(their headquarters ) being burnt down.

They're mostly nomadic with Halls in every province, so they're not quite gone. Interesting little faction though, kind of like an Inquisition.

Oh the ones that are supposed to have been wiped out in Dawnguard?

Not sure that I'd call them an inquisition really. They seem to keep to themselves and attack Daedra, Undead, Vampires, and other roving monsters that harrass people. Haven't seen them interact with other NPCs at all. Sort of a warrior monk faction that works out of lodges that nicely fits in with the concept of the mission of the dragonborn.

And is completely insulting of everybody that doesn't do things exactly their way and attacks everything that doesn't fit in to their narrow world view regardless of whether that thing is actually bothering anybody at all. They got what they deserve and my characters always make it a point to kill every single Vigilan they run across, no matter where they are.

Plus they have that stupid habit of simply standing and staring at rocks, walls and the occasional tree for absolutely no reason whatsoever.

Fortunately, their deaths contribute greatly to my bankroll, my enchanting skills and my collection of miscellaneous amulets.

Lol why do you hate them so much, they're only doing their job of stopping daedra, they just don't want anything similiar to the Oblivion crisis to happen in the fourth era.

Because they're religious zealots.

Anybody who knows me from these forums knows how I loathe that both in the game and in real life.

Euthanization is too good for 'em. I prefer to hear them scream first, then die.

So I'm guessing you choose the Imperials over Stormcloaks
Generally, yes I do. Very insightful. I think you can guess my feelings about Ulfric.

You think he's a role model and all the boys and girls should aspire to be like him :D [emoji14]

Religious group to combat heresy.
Well, although technically they just do that, it usually has negative connotations. I'm guessing it's because of the christian inquisition, especially the Spanish ome, who mercklessly tortured whoever said anything that conflicted the word of the church.

I'm pretty sure "inquisition" is associated with negativity, because it's a negative thing. "Heresy" is simply "not normal, so kill it" which could be aimed at anything. Think of homosexuals or blacks being killed, simply because they existed, and were "heathens and monsters."

Exactly. It's what I was trying to say in a way but I didn't say it quite right.

Well, in Dragon Age Inquisition they're not really a religious group that combats heresy. The members don't even follow the same religions and you can have the Inquisitor believe in pretty much anything you want (within lore) and state this, too.
All they do is inquire (Who ripped the sky open and who let the dogs.. Uh... demons out?) , hence they are an Inquisition.

Well that's their roll in inquisition, but their original role(as it's seen in the other games) is to guard mages to the point where they're practically imprisoned.

True, those two inquisitions are pretty different from one another
