Snow Elves' Original Name?

I've never come across what the Snow Elves (Falmer) were called, before their fall to what they are today. Like, the Dark Elves are the Dunmer, the Wood Elves are the Bosmer, etc., etc., but what was the name for Snow Elves? Were they actually Falmer? I doubt it, because the name seems like "Fallen Mer." So, has anyone ever come across anything at all that hints at their true name?

Snow Elves aren't actually referred to anything other than Falmer and Ice Elves. Weird, I know. And so far no hints to anything. Maybe Bethesda never wanted them to have another name. I'm guessing its only Fal mer.

Well, I guess the old Nords and the Snow Elves didn't spend enough peaceful time with each other to ever get to aquaintance-like-relationships and learning about each others' culture.

Yeah, he clearly states that he doesn't like his race being called Falmer but to refer to them as Snow Elves, they also seem to have their own language going on but no authentic/official translation by Bethesda.

He may simply dislike his race being called the Falmer because of what it represents today. Falmer might very well mean Snow Elves but right now it means "Horrible, blind monstrosities with a burning hatred for any but their own kind."

They're called Falmer. The reason Gelebor dislikes the name now, is for the reason he gives: "The name Falmer usually holds a negative meaning to most travelers."

They are probably nameless for a reason. Falmer are always watching and never seen, always within and without, they are the reason you are afraid of the dark.
