Okay, so yesterday I was watching a documentary and discovered something that may be the truth behind the Dark Brotherhood's black hand.

Turns out that "Black Hand", is the name of the terrorist group that killed the archiduque of Bosnia, whose death triggered the first world war. If you then consider that Skyrim's(don't know about other ES) Dark Brotherhood kills the emperor...

Another thing that I have realized, this one is likely to be a bit know, is that when you become the listener, you basically become schizofrenic, quite literally.

There's a voice in your head(the night mother's voice) that tells you to kill people. Seriously what the hell?

I was hoping we could re-enlist members to become members of the Black Hand in Skyrim but the best so far that I've gone through is the standard assassins you can assign to follow you. Since they abandoned the old ways which in turn saved them from certain problems but since you're helping Cicero bring everything back to the way things ought to be, you'd think there would be a side quest or something like in Thieves Guild where you must bring them back to glory in order to become the leader.

The Dark Brotherhood is apparently alive and well in today's world. Just the other day while watching Man vs Food, incredibly spicy wings were the challange of the day. They were called, "Stupid Wings." The chef derives part of his stupidly fiery sauce from what he calls, "the container of poor judgement," from which he continuously recycles sauce from previously cooked batches of stupid wings. I noticed that, affixed to the side of the container of poor judgement, was the Dark Brotherhood emblem. Imagine... assassination by hot sauce. :beermug:

I attempted to locate a pic online but alas, I could not.

Very well done on making that connection - do you think Bethesda put this in the game deliberately?
Black Hand -> Archduke Franz Ferdinand
=
Dark Brotherhood -> Emperor Titus Mede II

?

Yes. I think Bethesda did the black hand thing as wink, waiting for someone to notice.
But who knows, I've been proven wrong before.

Nope you aren't wrong. There's no way it isn't referencing the Black Hand

Haha, I remember that history lesson pretty well. :D Skyrim deja vu's all over the place - only that the assassins had actually given up, it was only because the driver went a different route while one of the assassins just came out from a food store that the murder happened.

Actually it was a cafe. The murderer was waiting for the car to pass but it passed so fast they missed him. However, they had to go back and the car got right in front of the cafe, so murderer(although the right word in this case would be assasin) went out and started shooting.

You know in Oblivion and Skyrim when ordered to kill someone I never had any objection to it. Is that normal? Certainly isn't very nice. XD

Of course, if the DB has their eyes set on you then the bed is already made. So to speak. :)

However it seemed like most of the hits were assigned to people who were dead anyways.
