How do you backstab a Dragon?
Y'all may recognize me from the Skyrim forums. Hi!

Anyhoo - picked up the Imperial addition of TESO for my PS4 and, so far so good.

I've a lovely, chesty Altmer mage created (recycled my name of Den Moria) but I have a couple of comments and a couple of questions that I hope someone would be willing to comment on.

Comments:
1) Is it my imagination, or has the graphical style returned to something much closer to Oblivion? I realize I'm only at the very beginning of the game, but it truly reminds me so much of Oblivion.
2) Where has the fluidity of Skyrim's engine gone? It's almost like they returned to their old engine (not a complaint, just an observation - I'm probably wrong).

Questions:
1) I realize that this is an MMO style game, but, good gravy! There are hundreds and hundreds of weirdo's scampering about the landscape like their on crack! What's everybody in such a hurry for? Frankly, if every one of those folks have escaped from ColdHarbor, it's no wonder Molag is pissed.
2) How do I put together a group of friends to attempt to play MMO style? Never played anything like this before with the exception of Dragon's Dogma and they're far more indirect. I don't really want to interact with the random crazies running about in my game. Some have been very helpful, just appearing out of nowhere to help me in a fight, but most just spring across the landscape willy-nilly and are seen no more. do friends agree to meet somewhere in the game and hook up that way? How does it work.

I realize I'm acting like a total newb, but, honestly I am. I set aside my Witcher 3 playthrough to give this a shot and started a character last night, but I would like to dedicate my weekend to this so any suggestions y'all may have would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

I have no answers to your questions, because console group forming is completely different from PC. I would try the in game tutorial/help menu, provided they left that in. I know that grouping is buggy (based on the high number of complaints on the ESO forums, which I may or may not have gotten permbanned from last Summer...). Zeni should be releasing improvements soon, and hopefully adding a text chat option, which will make it easier to form up with other players.

Good luck, and kill well.

To form a group go into it, create, add member, enter tag.

I love this game. It's great. I do agree with the feeling of being rushed though. There's so many random people doing the same quest as you, if you don't keep up with them, you get to the end and have to wait 10 minutes for the boss to spawn. I always take it slow, open EVERY crate and sack in hope of some loot, even if it's a piece of garlic. So these people just run ahead.

The big public dungeon (such as badman's hollow, bonesnap ruins) are a pain to get the achievement to kill all the champions.

That's my only real complaint. I have a few little ones too, but nothing major.

You played any pvp Daleon? That's a lot of fun.

Even if you don't, go explore cyrodil. As long as you stay away from the forts, you shouldn't bump into players. Cyrodil is fun to explore.

Group dungeons give excellent xp. If you're short for a group, join the group finder and do some public dungeons. Good xp, fun bosses and tons of loot.

I'm really enjoying it. I find roleplaying might be harder on this. I'll play through and do EVERYTHING first, then give RP a try. I do think it will be hard though.

I see it so much like Oblivion, even that irritating lockpicking method - It irritated me then, it still does now.

As for playing in groups - join a Guild, there are tons around - I'm going to start a general guild thread for PS4 - I started one on the European server. Set the chat to Guild and see who's around.

Good ideas. I'm still unsure which way to go though. I actually prefer playing on the European servers since they're so much less crowded. Currently getting all my permutations of character types up to level 10 (trying to find out what I like to play the most!).

All female, non-human on the NA servers and all male human and other on EU.

Congratulations on your choice to play as an Altmer! :) They are the best, long live the Aldmeri Dominion!

Playing 2x - female (BABE) on NA and male (BABE) on EU. Great sorcerers.

Oddly, am enjoying my argo's as well and my bosmer archer is amazing.

Still getting used to the orcs, but actually liking my Nord Templar. He can kick some major butt.

I've got a stack of 'em though.

Considering starting a guild called "SkyrimForumersUnite" so that those of us that are long time 'Rimmers that have moved over to ESO can get together and play.

Of course, my guild wouldn't be much on the grinding aspect or maxing for myself, but, members who wanted to would be welcome to.

Sounds like a lot of work though. :)

It's possible to join up to 5 guilds so I'm good for joining one here as well as the one I started

You started a guild? Can I join? I don't know anything about guilds, but I'm more than willing to drop a lot of green and blue stuff in to your store if y'all want it (not worried about coin) and I have stacks of matts on hand that I can share.

I belong to one guild now, but I can't find it anywhere? I think it's in Daggerfall since there's one showing there (the others I don't have permission for), but I'm not sure.

Can you give me some insight on how Guilds work? I wouldn't mind trying a little small group action (I've never done an MMO before so I really don't know how) and, yes, I do have headphones and mic.

Sorry for the delay, I don't really get on with the phone that much when I'm going to write more - lol

You can join, of course. We have a guild on both EU and NA servers. Both in the Ebonheart Pact though you can be in the other alliances and still join. I started the EU guild and we have mainly Ebonheart, but both Aldmeri and Daggerfall are in there too. Let me know your ESO account name and I will send you an invite for the EU guild. If you want to join the NA guild I'll send it on to Lioncore who started the NA one and the idea of Grownups Gaming back when Destiny came out.

Both are very relaxed guilds - no demands to be online at certain times, or to produce xxx amounts of swords. The EU guild has 33 members, we need another 17 to be able to trade. At the moment it's grab whoever is on for help. We do have facebook pages (I might make an ESO specific one if others feel it is a good idea). We also have a website (link in my signature) though facebook is more popular much to my disappointment.

We have enough members to have a guild bank alongside your own. We put surplus items in there for others to use, or to be sold when we get enough members to trade. It's possible to create an Guild tabard and by using money earned by the guild to buy colours if we haven't earned them through quests.

The 4 player dungeons are levelled at the group leader's level, so if you are at a lower level, make sure you are the leader. I joined a group at level 10 and the leader was level 16 - I died a lot. If there's no one near a group dungeon, you can still group up with anyone (and invite them to join the guild)

Even if we are in a different area, you can chat with Guild members who are always happy to offer advice.

I could write loads, but the best way to find out is, as always, to play.

Hey! I've seen your PSN on the EU servers! I'll stop to chat next time I'm there.
