So I just became a vampire in skyrim and I'm pretty confused and scared at the same time.I don't know what the fluff is happening right now.My stamina won't regenerate it says thats skin is burning...Can someone please explain what does being a vampire mean. All the pros and cons, everything related and the vampire lord, it's powers and plops. I would be really thankful cause I'm freaking out right now. Thanks in advance.

You seem a decent fellow. I hate to die.
You gotta feed. That gives you strength. And stay the hell outta the sun. That's gonna burn you something worse than toast. Do your bad-boy bidness at night. No burning skin. Sunblock 150 ain't gonna do it, man. Not as a vampire anyway.

And welcome to the Forums. :beermug:

I got my but to an alter before I could completely turn and got rid of it after reading up on it. Didn't want the hassle. If you're full on Vampire, however, and want to get rid of it, then the alters won't work. There are two ways to get rid of it. One is by becoming a werewolf via the Companions (which I did after I got rid of the vampire disease) and the other is to talk to this mage who you will be directed to by going into any bar/inn and asking about rumors.

When I went looking for info on this myself, I found this one page that helpfully gives the pro's and con's to both Vampire and Werewolf and there's a discussion on which ones players like better. Since I'm new here as well I can't post a link, but if you look up Skyrim Vampire Vs Werewolf, you'll find it :) Hope that helps a bit!

Stamina, health and magicka do not regenerate while you're in sunlight as both a vampire and vampire lord. One of the many minor annoyances about it, IMHO. :/ If you want to stay a vampire and not go get a cure from the mage in Morthal, I would suggest enchanting yourself some fire resistance armor or clothing to walk around in the sunlight with. Alchemy can help with this as well. Just drink some fire resist potions. It should tell you how weak you are to fire in your Magic menu under Effects in a percentage, so drink enough fire resist potions to match that. They do stack, I believe. There are also potions to jump start stamina, health and magicka regen. All of which you can buy or make.
You could also do the whole vampire roleplay thing and only go out at night. Blood Potions will help you feed while traveling across Skyrim and should hold off some ill effects, which you should have access to with the Dawnguard DLC at Volkihar Castle. Feeding, as others have said, helps this a lot as well. I believe you can feed with the Drain Life spell in the Destruction magic menu, and if you transform into a Vampire Lord and thrall them, then feed, or as a finishing move when attacking. I think you can also sneak and there should be an option to feed. Sleeping NPCs are ideal to feed on, too.
Hope this helps somewhat. If you have any other questions, feel free to ask. :) I'll answer the best I can.

So you have the dlcs? Because if you have on eyeliner then your face will burn in the sun. To to the woman in the Ragged Flagon under rotten to change your face and take off the eyeliner

That sounds like a glitch, tbh. Eyeliner shouldn't make a difference to whether you burn in the sun or not. Only thing it effects is appearance - and the only thing that makes you burn in sunlight is vampirism, or a glitch that makes the system think you're a vampire (which I've heard of happening before).
Yes, I have the DLCs. I think I said that in my last post. Regardless, I tried to include info for those who don't, though my non-Dawnguard knowledge of vampirism is slim. :)

As it's been said before, as a vampire you can't regenerate anything during the day unless you're inside a building. You also get a weakness to fire that increases a 25% for every day you don't feed. And once 4 days have passed without feeding, NPCs will attack you on sight.

On the good part, you get resistance to cold, which increases with the weakness to fire, you get a most impressive stealth buff and a power to become invisible for 2 min once you've been 4 days without feeding. There's a spell to drain people's health that also increases.

In my opinion, vanilla vampire isn't worth it, but if you get the DLC and become a vampire lord, then you get to feel what overpowered means. I never even gave it perks and I was able to kill everyone in Whiterun except for the kids and the essentials.

Also, with the Dawnguard DLC, no matter how hungry a vampire/vampire lord gets, townspeople won't attack you on sight. I believe that's one of the things they fixed. :)
And you even get a buff that makes your Illusion spells stronger. It's nothing to sneeze at, either. :p
I didn't know that your health/magicka/stamina will still regen inside buildings, though. That's a good thing to know, as I plan on making my Dunmer character a Vampire Lord here soon. Thanks for sharing that.

I agree with hershangames, being a vampire in vanilla Skyrim is not a whole lot of fun - the Dawnguard DLC makes being a vampire so much cooler and there is a perk tree associated with it etc.

Here is a link that gives a lot of information about the 'Vampire Lord' powers in Dawnguard :):

If you dont want to be a vanilla vampire you can be cured. You just go to morthal and find a mage there named falion which from meeting you can start the side quest "Rising at Dawn"

You can also drink a cure disease potion if the disease hasn't made you a vampire already.

I have been a vampire for 8 days and can not seem to feed on anyone, complete any more quests (because every body is trying to kill me)

To feed on someone just wait until night and then sneak on someone who's sleeping. When the pickpocket action becomes available click and you'll be asked if you want to pickpocket or feed on the person. Once you feed, you'll go back to stage 1 vampirism.

Another method to do quest and such while in stage 4 is to move only at night and becomes.e an illusion master, so that you can cast calm spells on everyone that tries to kill you, including the people that give you quests.
Hope that helped.

Then I'm afraid all you have left to do is buy Dawnguard, if you're on PC get a mod that fixes it, or dump vampirism.
