so I didn't know if someone has post this but since the news is out about backwards compatibility for Xbox one users does this get you motivated to start replaying skyrim again or no. I may but I hate the hassle of starting a new story. I wish they had remade skyrim for next gen but I think that this as close as we will get. I may do it but not for sure since I gotta buy me more space for it like a 3 or 4 terrabite hard drive

I take Zero Punctuation's stance on the Xbox One now being backward compatible for a limited range of titles of which Skyrim is only one. It's like pirates kidnapped your wife and now expect a round of applause because they bought her back after two years and only cut off most of her arms and legs.

Yes it does! I sold my 360 upon purchasing the One, which meant wiping the hard drive, etc.
However, when Skyrim is available to play, I will almost certainly replay it. ;) Starting again would not be terrible, as I had so many saves on the 360 version - it would be fun to re-live the Skyrim experience on a next-gen console!

Unfortunately, Microsoft said that only a select few games would be "chosen" for backwards compatibility and those select few would be chosen by them alone.

Here is a poll where Microsoft are asking the community which games they would like to be backwards compatible - don't worry guys, Skyrim is third as of right now. :D
You can definitely count on launch titles and other Microsoft games, but some games may not be available to play as Microsoft needs the publishers' permission to (re)release their games on Xbox One (as they are technically emulating the 360). :)

You seem a decent fellow. I hate to die.

Still, it wouldn't surprise me in the least if MS "release" more titles somewhere further down the line, thus enticing more saps, er, customers to spring for the One.

Any game is really backward compatible, but Microsoft need PERMISSION from Game Publisher. Weidly all that listed already BC are published by microsoft or get permission already.

I was looking at Xbox One prepurchase bundle for Fallout 4, and it currently includes Fallout 3 on Xbox 360. In the description, it explicitly says that it will be available on Xbox One backwards compatibility soon. I doubt they'd put that if they didn't already have a deal in place with Bethesda, and it's unlikely that they wouldn't address Skryim at the same time.
