Hey all!! I'm brand new to this chat and fairly new to the game. I play the PS3 version, not online. I found a beggar in the town of White Run and adopted her. I also adopted a son from the orphanage in Rifkin. Does anyone out there know of other beggar children that need homes? I'm not starting a cult, I promise.

Tis true. In the vanilla, console game you are limited to two of the dozen-or-so adoptable kids. On pc there are mods to change that. Interaction options with the children are fairly limited, and I usually grow weary of in-game parenting pretty quickly. I settle my kids and dog in the house I use least, and trust the housecarl and steward to raise them.

HERE is a link which lists all adoptable children in Skyrim. Be they beggars, unfortunates in the orphanage or children that become available to adopt after their parents die.

On a side note, if you Marry Marcurio (the mage you can hire in the Bee and Barb in Riften), he is the only NPC whom has dialogue concerning the children. Plus he makes for quite an attentive husband.

I'd not seen that list before, thanks for linking it Kitty!

Braith is adoptable!? On one hand that seems terrible. On the other, it seems like a great and selfless move by a benevolent Dragonborn to get her out of Whiterun. Those poor people have suffered enough.

I clicked this expecting a discussion among vampires. Got disappointed.

it would be cool if you could take over the orphanage after killing grelod and having a herd?gaggle?school?pod? of little dragonborns to raise and take over the world after youre done with it.

Sorry, Rimfaxe, my family have been bitten by the adoption bug. You won't find any vans in my yard, Kalin. I would love that, Mithro'l.

What Skyrim needs is a way to detangle yourself from those little runts when they become repugnant. A 'un-adopt' option. There is no recourse to properly scold your children... at least let me don the gloves of the pugilist and smack them around a bit when they keep bugging me to play tag, or fetch, or whatever dumb game it is they are trying to get me to play.

Its the same way with marriage, except you can kill your spouse, but you are stuck being a widow the rest of the game, and any further plans on getting re-married to another person of your choice is thrown out your virtual window.

I basically ignore the kids unless they are fighting or asking for something. And I haven't decided on marriage yet. Don't really need a fella asking me what's for dinner or did I have time to polish his armor.
