I recently made a new mage character and got to 100 speech, 100 smith, 100 enchanting, 100 alteration, and 100 illusion before doing any quests at all other than Unbound. I ended up at around level 40ish. I made a full set of Daedric armor and made it legendary using a smithing set (I used enchanting potions to make a +112% smithing set and used smithing potions when it came time to actually make them legendary. I think I got my top to around 112 defence with only 15 Heavy Armor). The enchantments I have on them are -100% Destruction and Conjuration so i can spam destruction spells and summon new thralls as they die off. I also have an equivalent set that has alteration and illusion bonuses. I can use heavy armor as a mage effectively because I use the Steed Stone which makes armor weigh nothing like the perk does.

Basically I play defensively while letting my thralls or dremora do most of the damage with the option of being able to play offensively if I have no problem tanking the enemies.

The only time I'd consider grinding any skills would be maybe for a high perk build, like I'm making an Archmage build that uses all schools of magic, enchantment, and alchemy. It ends up being 70 total perks. But I doubt I'd grind until level 45-50.

Don't grind at lower levels, they are the funnest part of the game. Levels 6-41 (5-40 perks) are the best parts of the game.

im not grinding non combat skills first......its in my first post........................... lvl 75 destruction........expert level spells..... thats my highest skill.............there's really no other spells after that since the master spells can wait and they take alot longer to cast.............. so i dont see where I am grinding non combat skills higher than combat..... i asked if it would be bad to go up 8-12 levels..... I have all the damage i need due to the wall of spells and incinerate and thunderbolt...... and i calculated what level i would be if I brought enchanting and speech up to 100... which is the 8-12 levels.... would bring me from 20- 28 or 32

is that a significant leap of levels? cause if i just threw my enchanting up, i could then cast my destruction spells at 0 cost meaning i would kill everything super fast no matter what.... so ya.....

I apologize if im coming off rude or cross..... just in my head it sounded like a simple question... but I may not have directed my question in a correct way or made it too broad sounding..... if i didnt then please help me see what i could have said differently in orginial post. thanks

there are a lot of dots in there, try some dashes also, try this instead

.-- .... .- - - .... . ..-. ..- -.-. -.-
