Many accuses Rolff of harassing the dark elves but perhaps he is right all along?

Not sure what the revelation here is.

If the Stormcloak regime in Windhelm isn't providing protection or care to the Dunmer citizens of Windhelm, why would the Dark Elves support them?

This is just to hillarious for words. When I saw that armor in game I didn't think twice about it.

I personally think if and when the Thalmor invade Skyrim and the other provinces, that the Dunmer will side with who ever fights against the Thalmor. Whether it be the Stormcloaks or the Imperial Legion.

The one cube to rule them all.
The Stormcloaks and the Legion would fight if the Thalmor invaded. The Legion can only take so much horse cr*p from those Aldmeri a**holes.

I'm with MushroomGenius, I don't really see why the proverbial presses need to be halted. But then, we've had this convo so many times before on The Thread, haven't we Raijin? ;)

That dunmer woman, who was likely their representative, says they are not choosing a side because it IS NOT THEIR FIGHT. It is, though, since they are as much a citizen of Skyrim as anyone else.

That also leads to believe that they are cowards who support the empire but expect everything to be given to them, As in WHY would they not pick up a weapon and join the legion in the fight to capture Windhelm?

also, Erikur is a Stormcloak Spy. Just saying.

Actually the fight is over Talos worship. Dunmer don't even worship the Divines, let alone Talos. They worship a collection of Daedric Princes.

I think there was an underlying issue about freedom or security. How would the Dunmer feel about not being allowed to worship their gods (Daedric Princes)? I think for their safety they would and should join the legion if they attacked Windhelm.

You're assuming they're all warriors of some sort though. They could just be merchants.

They don't give two plopss about who wins the war. If things improve for them if the Imperials won, nice plus. Either way they aren't combatants. They're a people who have been at war with Skyrim on and off for centuries, in fact the Empire was in power over both Morrowind and Skyrim during the Oblivion Crisis and one of the common rumors in Oblivion is about a war between Skyrim and Morrowind. The Empire doesn't look much better than the Stormcloaks do to the Dunmer. They have little reason if any to join either side, they view the war as foolish and a waste of resource, and picking a side would make them hypocrites. Not to mention that if even one of them sided with the Imperials during the siege and the Imperial siege had failed, imagine what would happen to them. The Stormcloaks would put the whole group to death.

If you notice the people of Dawnstar are also against the war and only reluctantly support it at best. The Dunmer do not support the war at all and so remain out side of the conflict. This is something that happens in real life as well. People who don't support a war stay out of it, and are often accused of working for the otherside because of it. The Cold War is a perfect example of this. People who opposed the war were often accused of being Russian spies, and Americans who liked the idea of Communism were branded traitors and jailed. The Dunmer in Windhelm have been shown little kindness by the Nords, and so would assume that the other cities must be the same, as they have experienced nothing else. People often judge the whole of a people by what they see the most of. In WWII people thought all Germans were evil and hated Jews, some people still think that. During the Cold War people judged all Communists by the dictatorship of the USSR, but today one of America and Canada's greatest trading partners, China, is Communist. To get to the present, many people think all Muslims are are terrorist because of 9/11. All of these prejustice come from not being shown any different beyond one or two rare cases. Think about that. People judge a group the the majority of it's members they have ad contact with. The majority of the Nords the Dunmer of Windhelm have had contact with have been racist and cruel. The Dunmer have good reason the not back the war.

It would likely be the same thing though, in reversed. IF the dunmer's way of life was threatened. they would likely do whatever it takes to get it back. just saying. We have not enough evidence to call them imperials or anything other than selfish pricks who would do nothing to help anyone but themselves.

It's quite possible, as while travelling Skyrim I've seen about 500 Dunmer on their way to Solitude to join the legion. They never seem to make it though...

Raijin

I came across a book called "Dunmer of Skyrim". It's quite an interesting read.

Okay, Let me ask you all this. How many Nords that are not named that you see have actual combat experience?

My answer is I believe no unnamed soldier has as much fighting experience/training due to there actually being a war going on.
