True, but during all the DB and TG quests, you come out almost a hero at the end, in a twisted POV. At least, that's what it felt like to me. I'm talking destroy the world kind of evil all.The game already has heaps of ways to turn evil, from the Theives Guild, Dark Brotherhood, the several Daedric quests, and of course being a vampire lord.
Although I admit joining the dragons would be a great alternative quest line to the Blades.
It'd also be cool to join the Forsworn, Vigil of Stendarr, the Thalmor, in fact, why not:
That's the point though. Chaos. Nothing would make sense and everything will be spinning out of control like a twister from hell. Of course, it'll never happen in a TES game, but man, it would be fun to do it in Skyrim. You got the world ending, Dragons, a civil war, assassins, thieves, vampires, werewolves, Mages and countless others. Mix that all together, and the one person who is suppose to fix everything, instead, destroys everything. All Darth Vader like. That would be awesome, but I see your point. It's made pretty clear that Alduin is going to end Tamriel, Aetherius and Oblivion. I don't know about everyone else, but personally I find that a hard goal to work towards. Also, you probably wouldn't be able to play on afterwards.
What would you get for doing so anyway? An end to the game? Possibly his meteor summon or dragon resurrect shout?
I've noticed the idea of betraying him has come up a bit, but that doesn't make sense for a number of reasons. For one, you wouldn't be able to kill him, because the Greybeards and the Blades would refuse to help you, (they'd probably try to outright kill you.) thus, you'd have no knowledge of dragonrend, his only weakness.
Secondly, The Dragons would never bow to a mortal master - and even if they did, it'd take quite a while for them to come around (a lot probably wouldn't)
Lastly, though there are likely other reasons, it eliminates the point of joining Alduin in the first place. You end up with the same situation as before, if not a worse one.
So while you supporters of Alduin are committing suicide, I'll be working with the Empire.
Did we actually kill Alduin, or did we send him through time again? It's been a long time since I defeated him XD
Did he disappear? Then Alduin will eventually end the world. So we just delayed it again. Unless in the next TES it mentions an exact date when Alduin the World-Eater was Defeated, then we should be able to choose if we want to defeat him now.
Since when have they been "thinking about dragon mounts." All I've heard are fans pleading for it. I don't think it's lore-friendly, it shouldn't happen.

Dear God...think of the horror. lol!!!I know what you mean about a hero in a twisted pov, although you're still joining a band of assassins and theives, and there's no way they're "good guys".
And I guess it'd be cool to take Alduin's side and destroy the world. But then there won't be an Elder Scrolls VI, and we wouldn't want that, now would we?
At least TG has a very specific rule. No killing.I know what you mean about a hero in a twisted pov, although you're still joining a band of assassins and theives, and there's no way they're "good guys".
