Nuisance quest. I try to find fifteen crimson nirnroots the first time I visit BR and then go back later when they've respawned to get the other fifteen. It takes too long to find thirty in one go

I brake for blue butterflies
There are 24 or so just in between Aftland and the Tower of Mzark. You could easily pick all 30 in one swoop if you knew where to look for them all and save yourself a trip back. I clear out Blackreach completely when I go and it only takes a couple hours tops to cover the whole thing and mine all the ore.
But the quest is pretty pointless unless Alchemy is one of your main skills, agreed.
