Actually, it's not subjective at all. The Greybeards fully accept you as a member and yet have no intention of telling you that Paarth even exists. That's deception and it's not admirable.

I'm not sure you're remembering it correctly.

The first time his name comes up (that I can recall) is after you've mastered Whirlwind Sprint shout. The dialog option comes up "There are only four of you?".

The Greybeards make mention of him as the leader of their order. Which is entirely true. Their language may be misleading; as one would naturally assume that the "leader" of the Greybeards is himself a Greybeard. They say he lives on the peak, which is also true, and elude to an eventual meeting when the Dragonborn is deemed "ready" (Whatever that may mean).

They never mention that he's a dragon. But in his capacity as their leader that fact is irrelevant.

That's not disclosure, alluding to some phantom leader. That's deception no matter how you want to paint it. Sorry. At the very least they should have introduced you to him after retrieving the horn. The fact that he is a dragon is not irrelevant at all, in fact quite the opposite. Dragons are reappearing and the fact that he is a dragon is hugely substantial. Obviously since the quest halts without their participation.

You're kind of backtracking a little bit, which makes having a conversation difficult to enjoy.

Before you said they made no mention mention of him. At all. Having "No intention of telling you that Paarth even exists". When that's proven to be false, you come back and say that they didn't "disclose" enough of his existence for your liking.

They tell you everything about Paarth that's relevant to The Dragonborn's line of question. His name, location and his role as leader of their order. The fact that he's very wise and seldom seen. Hardly a phantom figure.

What they don't do is volunteer unsolicited answers about his race. While you may find the fact that he's a dragon relevant in the context of events unfolding outside of the monastery, *and it may be. The fact that he's a dragon is irrelevant to the questions being asked of them.

The Greybeards are never flatly deceptive.

Agreed. They only tell you what you need to know, or what you expect to know.

this is gonna be a huge conflict for The Lost Warchief because his goal is ultimate dragon hunter but he will grow close to Parrth so he will make a choice go against his gods orders or kill a good friend I wonderhow he will react to it

It's been a while since I've done a game where I've killed Paarthurnax, but I'm going to make the difficult decision to put him down now.
The main reason being that I want to give some of my followers the chance to join the Blades and become actively involved with making Skyrim a safer place, especially Annekke, who's husband was recently killed by an Elder Dragon.

I let him live because I just dislike Delphine. If there was a quest for it I'd turn her over to the Thalmor to see what reward I'd get.

Mr Forz

I'm helping. Mostly.
Did let him live. On one side, yeah, well, the name the divines forged on him as well as his actions aren't quite glorious. On another, he clearly explains to you everything he was, and now is. Perhaps he'll hold onto his promise and meditate forever at the top of his mountain. Or, he'll wait until the end of your days and take over. Only time can tell this. My character's a simple Vampire and has all the time of the world to watch over him, but I'd clearly understand why a mortal wouldn't risk a potential betrayal while he still lives, and put him down.

You both seem to agree that the fact he is a dragon is irrelevant, the fact that he is the brother of the World Eater is irrelevant as well it appears. Agree to disagree with both of you.

Again. Agree to disagree. That disclosure would have saved lives had it come more forthright imo. I've seen a lot of NPC's perish by the time they decide to share crucial information. Poor Lod would survive more often if only the Greybeards would have been more open.

I'm surprised people are discussing Paarth but nobody cares about Runil in Falkreath. Before he became a priest he was a Thalmor mass-murderer.

Lot's of shady people in Skyrim. Paarth just happens to hold the key to dealing with Alduin.
