Hey guys! I've decided to make my enabled mods specific to each character. As in stealth mods are only enabled when I'm playing a stealth character and such. This time I am starting a mage character and am looking for mods for that. I am not really looking for spell mods right now as I have never really played as a full on mage and I want to exhaust the vanilla stuff and I'll look for new spells when I get bored. So right now I'm looking for mods that make being a mage more exciting and dynamic. I already have magic duel redone, immersive college of winterhold, and vellamo. What your suggestions?

Immersive College of Winterhold sounds like a super cool mod! I'd also try Winterhold College Improved by Sku11M0nkey - it adds a complete floor with shops and a dining area for the college people to hang out and also reworks the mage quarters. Very nice. According to the author of Immersive College of Winterhold they're compatible.
You could also check out Opulent Outfits, might add some much needed glory to the college.

As for mage combat and gameplay, I don't know what Magic Duel Redone does, but I'd definitely look into something to balance vanilla magic and / or check out some spell packs. I heard lots of praise for the Apocalypse spells but haven't tried them myself. I've experimented around with Midas Magic and Midas Magic Evolved - tons and tons of new spells. However, only very few of them were balanced. Quite a number of them were ridiculously overpowered (yet fun).

EDIT: Also you might wanna try Amazing Race Tweaks - depending on the race you play they might help you on your way to building a decent mage. They're actually super cool no matter what kind of character or build you're playing.
