Ah yes that's correct!
I do recharge my bow & warhammer with gems :p

I don't buy them though, there's a few sweet spots that I take them +
whatever places I am at now seems to have plenty of them.

yeh, dwarven dungeons are full of them, but they are not allways filled, Court wizards and wizards in the college of winterhold that train u in some magic schools sell lots of them.

Also, if ure role play type that is hungry, buy food, mead, ale, wine... my strongest character loves getting drunk.

Who cares if others are drunk? Being drunk urself is best thing that can happen to ya (in skyrim)

Hmm... deal. IF you brought back some Charus. Then I can make pie.

Drink, ale, nord mead, or any kind of wine. Your stamina will restore, but you will regenerate it slower than before. Thats all there is to it. But if u drink sleeping tree sap, your screen will get "drunk" too.

I actually found the quest pretty easy. Did it all in one shot in a little under an a hour. According to Wiki there are 44 Crimson Nirnroots in total in Blackreach. Usually these types of quests are a drag, but this one was fun. Finding those Jazbay grapes on the other hand, much more challenging.

I usually end up with 40 and I have no idea where the missing 4 are. I usually make a point to mine every vein and do grab every root but it always seems that 4 of them escape me even though I go through every building and ruin.

You get points from me for actually staying down there long enough. I did that quest..ONCE..and complained the entire time. I hate Blackreach. Mainly cause it's so fricken dark down there. Who cares about all the pretties..? Turn on the gods-damned lights!!

Once you get used to navigating it you can whip through pretty quick. Took me about a half dozen trips through before I found a nice path. I do it every playthrough because I use poison a lot and Sinderion's Serendipity is a nice alchemist effect, especially since most of the poison I use have rare ingredients.

Maybe I'll try it again with my current pure mage character.

Best advice I can give is to just follow the map as you normally would towards the Elder Scroll, only once you come out of the Field Laboratory, kinda stick to the outer perimeter and work your way around the map sticking to the perimeter as much as possible and kinda let the plants lead you along, keeping the big, yellow ball on your right, until you work your way back around to the drainpipe and then head in towards the center structure from there. If that makes any sense...

No problem. I don't know if you have the patience for mining ore but clearing the veins is also useful for identifying areas you've already visited in case you get turned around.

A few times this has been the very first quest I've completed on a new character: I use an alternate start mod that has the option to start in Sinderion's field lab. Surviving Blackreach at level 1 is not easy, though (especially if it's set as a high-level zone, with Falmer Warmongers, Chaurus Reapers and mod-added creatures everywhere) - I usually get my sneak from 5 to 35 or so while looking for the Crimson Nirnroot. By now I pretty much remember where they are, so it's just a matter of collecting them without getting slaughtered. :p

I love using the blade trap to kill those two Frost Trolls, btw. :D
