How do you backstab a Dragon?
I a currently playing Witcher 3 and have to say that, frankly, it is NOT better than Skyrim. Sure, the graphics are, in some cases better as are some of the mechanics, but I am just finding it doesn't live up to the hype.

Has anyone, or is anyone playing Witcher and have an opinion?

I'll probably play this through, but I miss my two new characters I just created over the weekend while waiting for Witcher to come out, already. Poor Urug and poor Den. I think they miss me too!

I am watching LPs and my opinion is completely opposite of yours so far.

Don't get me wrong. W3 is an awesome game, but I miss the individuality of the RPG in Skyrim and even the graphics are better in many incidences.

Maybe I'm just spoiled and addicted. Yeah, that's the ticket!

Graphics? Better? You must be comparing your modded Skyrim to a vanilla Witcher 3.

I will say this: the games aren't really comparable for one being better than the other. They are different games on so many levels that it just becomes preference.

I never gave Witcher any real thought, but the more I look into it the more interesting it actually seems. I might have to take a read of the novel series the games are based on.

they're both different games, and each give me a different kind of satisfaction. Witcher has a very interesting story that makes me want to go through the whole game, it's like watching a movie, or reading a book. While skyrim gives me the free will to do/be whatever i want, creating my own destiny. They're both great games, in their own way.

Harkin

Having played Witcher 1, 2 and currently going through 3, I think alot of people new to the witcher would have alot more hype had they started the journey with Geralt from the beginning, like me!

Its the story that makes the game so good, and with choices that impact aspects of the story similar to mass effect Its one of those games with huge replay value.

I wouldnt compare it to Skyrim though because they both have differences. Skyrim being more make your own character and backstory whereas Witcher, you ARE Geralt focused story centered around him.

I had been waiting for this and the climax of Geralts journey is one I am currently enjoying, it might grow on you, it did for me.

I don't play any game where you can't create your own character, so I can't comment on Witcher 3. I have Oblivion and Skyrim to keep me occupied until TES VI. :beermug:

Bring me my broadsword, and clear understanding.
I wouldn't go with a direct comparison, they are over 3 years apart which is almost a lifetime with technological developments. That said, I won't be getting W3 because I can't play in 3rd person well enough to enjoy it. So all of you game developers who aren't reading this - give us the choice - 1st or 3rd person!
