I haven't went that far into Magic spells yet.
I was wondering what Is some of the best - area of effect spells, in the game.

For instance: I was in The Sightless Pit...I had a hell of a time in there!
There's a part where like 5 Falmers come at you at once. Then, you need some kinda strong magic spell, to dull them down, of course.

I'm level 26 - Wood Elf. I can only use - Apprentice level Magic. (my Destruction tree is 40).
I'm guessing a good Cloak spell in conjunction with another Alteration spell, would be good for this situation (I mentioned above). I bought an Adept level Cloak spell, But dont have enough
Magicka skill to use it yet...

If someone can recommend a Good - Area of Effect magic spell combination. For my Apprentice level. I Would appreciate it. I saw where "Ironflesh" Alteration can be very
effective with certain destruction spells. If anyone can expand on that. (with example)

Also, I read in Wiki. Where Faralda starts selling Cloak spells, when you reach - Level 50.
But it dosen't specify. If that means your Character has to be level 50, or just your Destruction skill tree ? Any help would be appreciated

When you found yourself in tight spots like the sightless pit, "Ice Storm" (adept level) is a good spell to know. You can hit multiple targets with it especially if they are all clumped up together. The spell not only damages but it also effects stamina which slows down the enemy considerably, which will help you escape quickly if you get overwhelmed.

Do you have any enchanted gear or jewelry? If not, you need to get some to cut the cost of magika. Either that or get your enchanting skills up and tailor your own gear.

I tend to like the combination of Ice Storm and Wall Of Flames. Though depending on any spell you cast, they can get quite expensive in Magic. I recommend taking the time to level up enchanting to 60 at the least. Then, you can have enough enchantments to make Destruction Magic free. Better yet, get enchanting to 100 and you can place two enchantments on one item. That would also leave you with two free apparel free from Destruction, so you can put whatever you want on them.

Though if you were to make it to 100, I recommend just using Ice storm until you get to Incinerate. If not, then use the previous method.

Oh, I almost forgot. If you get enchanting to 100, that means you can also equip fortify Magic on your apparel too. So it's basically nothing but win/win.

Hope this helped!

The mage vendors start selling highter level spellbooks when your magic skill hits that level, not your character level. In my experience, they actually start to sell adept books when your magic hits 40, not 50. Check with Farengar in Whitehelm for destruction spells if you don't want to hoof it out to the college.

Combine Glowing Mushroom and Nightshade for a potion to give your AoE spell extra damage.

It's already been mentioned, so I'll second Ice Storm. It's my favorite spell over all, (especially duel casted while wearing the mask of Dukaan). Useful in many situations. If you get to master level destruction, lightning storm is awesome against dragons. :beermug:

Adept/Master Level destruction spells, perhaps staves of fireball or destruction staves from Dragon priests, staffs are good alternatives if you have low destruction skill, these can be found in dungeons or bought from Destruction school Trainers.

Faralda in the mage college is one of those.

Don't forget to find dragon shouts and learn the way of the voice, quite a few can be used as AoE in conjunction with magic.

Just a few aoe shouts are Ice Form, Unrelenting force, Fire Breath, Storm Call. There are more.

Fire Wall, Storm Wall etc are very good defensive wise.

Keep searching vendors for spell tomes, only buy them if you have the destruction perk required, I.e Adept books require the Adept level destruction perk.
