Thrain blinked as a Dumner heroin strutted into the room, her extravagant armor reflecting in the fire's light. Looking down at the measly chunk of bread in her callused hand, the melting butter drizzling onto her fingers. Inhaling through her nose, the small Bosmer girl let the aroma of the tavern wash over her. Sweaty farmers, sour mead, the sweet stench of roasted nuts. Glancing over at the Dunmer woman, Thrain began to wonder what kind of a life awaited her in the future.
She'd always assumed she'd open up shop in a city like Whiterun, making and selling poisons and remedies, but she knew there was more to life than that.. surely there was at least some adventure to be had. Shaking her head, Thrain leaned back, prompting herself with her arm as she stood to her feet then walked into the small tavern's kitchen. It was bizarre how the cook was able to make all this food with so little preparation. Sure, it could taste better, but it was edible.
The chef barely acknowledged her as she stepped into the heated room as he was busily stirring a hot of horker stew, the savory smell choking her senses as she passed by. As she approached a cupboard in the back of the room, Thrain ran her fingers through her greasy hair, silently asking herself why she hadn't put it up in a bun that morning. Reaching into the cupboard, she snatched an apple, rubbing it clean on her trouser.
It was somewhat sad how easy it was to steal from these people, they were too dazed to pay any attention. Thrain hungered for the intensity of thievery that she'd experienced back in Riften, but those days were over.
Pushing past a sellsword and a barterer, Thrain made her way to the Dunmer woman's table, plopping herself into the chair opposite of her. Lifting her hand, she bit into the apple, it's juices spilling down her chin as she crunched it's flesh between her teeth. Thrain didn't usually approach other people, as she tended to avoid socialization in general, but she was curious. She wanted to know what it was like to be a real adventurer and by the looks of it, that was what this Dunmer was.
