Tonilia's eternal line: "Welcome to the cosy little family..." rrraagghhhhrrr! I'm your guild mistress, at least Vex and Delvin recognize this (although Vex is still incredibly condescendant when speaking to me about jobs).
It's only one example of many annoying situations where the Dragonborn's status isn't recognized by NPCs, but Tonilia really gets on my nerves.

Adding to this point:

"So, you're Brynjolf's new protégé eh? Don't look like much to me"

I'M YOUR BOSS.

Serana and her zombie ruining any chance of sneaking.
Lydia.
Dragons flying off into the distance after wasting arrows on them. Effing get back here and finish what you started!
Missing the breach wall glitch so many effing times just for a damn merchants chest.
Accidentally selling something I wanted.
Drums, lutes and flutes sticking around in my inv.
That goddamn red eagle book. Eff you.

A Brute among Beasts
Wasted Grand soul gems on the wolves that keep attacking Lakeview Manor. I had a similar problem with skeevers in the basement, but I installed a 'Skeever-Squasher' (Ebony Warhammer) down there instead.

Trying to shoot somebody sitting in a chair. Instead the arrow hits "the chair", alerting whoever I would have just assassinated (who knew chairs had little invisible barriers around them?)

(Sorry for using necromancy on an old thread, I guess? Eh)

What about how when you are trying to snipe someone and they just magically SLIDE four feet to the side? That makes me wanna die, seriously.

I leave that as the character having a dumb luck move that saves their life, and the game engine doesn't have anyway to show it.

The AI has a built in auto strafe/dodge mechanic when you play on higher difficulties. They can sense when you are aiming at them and when you release the projectile.

Fair enough, but I play on novice because I have anger management issues and do not like to stress myself over a game, which is supposed to make me have fun. Just yesterday I almost had an aneurysm trying to beat stupid Karstaag before I said "fl*ff it, I'll try again later when I'm on a higher level". On novice. Does it make me look like a wimp? Yes it does. But I don't really care about that XD

Even if I was playing at higher difficulties anyway, that's really immersion-breaking if I'm sneaking and they haven't noticed me aiming at them. Hell, they're not even looking at me. And even if Bethesda wanted to make them dodge, why not give them an actual dodge animation instead of making them moonwalk to the side? It's just abhorrent in every level.

(Sorry if it looks like I'm angry or ranting at you or something, I'm really not, and I apologize in advance if it feels like that.)

Don't worry, I have super passionate "THIS MECHANIC IS STUPID" rants all the time, and I also have anger issues xD

Good, I was worried I might have come off as agressive XD

Like someone said, it really annoys me when I’m fighting a dragon and some wolves and bears start attacking me in the middle of the battle. Come on! Let's kill this flying bastard first, after we can talk about our business! Or do you prefer to be toasted in the middle of the combat?

But what makes me very angry is when I fast-travel to Whiterun and there are some idiot waiting me to fight. Sometimes they are hard to fight and in the heat of the battle I always hit some citizen or guard... Then I win the fight and start to be the public enemy number one...

Once I fast-traveled to Riften and there were some vampires attacking the city. I tried to help. You can imagine what happened...

After 6 reloads, I kept my axe sheathed and just watched the citizens and guards fighting in a crazy way against the vampires.

Talking about that: Adrianne Avenicci is really badass. She destroys the bandits with her mace.

It's issues with the artificial intelligence that bothers me more than anything. It breaks my immersion with the role playing somewhat. For example, I went into an inn and a bard walked right at me and started blubbering on all about his life. I'm not sure why somebody I've never met before would come at me so strongly without first introducing themselves. Another character told me we were friends, but them shouted insults at me as I walked away. I immediately came back and they were being friendly again. The stealth confuses me too as a guard spotted me from really far away at one point, but then walked into me another time and never noticed. My main worry however, is that the random encounters can permanently kill off important NPCs. It hasn't happened to me in Skyrim yet, but a random brawl at the inn in Oblivion resulted in the death of the person that sells the furniture. I didn't realize until it was too late to re-load. It also happened to be where my favourite house was located. For the most part though, the A.I. creates amusing and unexpected situations.

Talking to an NPC about some quest related stuff when suddenly a Dragon attacks, and then, after killing the beast and missing out on most of the dialogue, suddenly being interrupted again by Nazeem.
"NO, I DON"T GO TO CLOUD DISTRICT! @#%$^%$"

The most annoying thing is the wolves that are everywhere slow you down to a crawl. The shopkeepers that keep getting in my way when you break the line of sight. When you have to release items because you have no more space left.

when an NPC locks themselves inside their house. You go looking for someone to obtain information or an item for a quest, and they are inside their house, which is locked, and you either pick the lock to get in and risk arrest, or stand around waiting like a lemon for the person to come outside.

Of all the skills one can master in this game, why can't the dragonborn simply learn the art of knocking?

Being attacked while on horseback. For some reason I am dreadful at both melee and ranged attacks while on horseback, so being attacked is a real problem. Especially when I'm riding Arvak and he disappears right after I dismount. Such a pain.

A mod was finally made to fix that exact issue, and it got hundreds of endorsements within 24 hours. That's saying something.

After taking a sweet screenshot of my character slaying fools, I may go back to view it and notice an arrow sticking out of my eye. Diminishes the badassery just a little bit.

When the high elf Taarie says "If you're heading to the Blue Palace you might want to rethink that outfit." even if your wearing the clothes she gave you! This single handedly makes me want to murder every single high elf in skyrim.
