I'm new to Skyrim . I'm Level 5 - Wood Elf. Just wonder what the level cap is.
Also, with The Wood Elf. I know their main strength is Archery. But I think I'm too low level to be
effective with the Bow, yet...
And I found that they're only average at hand-to hand combat. Does anyone know a particular
Hand weapon /power combo (or maybe a build) That is good for Wood Elf.

Also, at what levels do you start encountering the hard-core enemies ?

From everything I have read, there is no level cap for your player. Enemies only level so far, and you face those that are a challenge to your current level. As you increase your experience level, you can put perk points into Archery, and become more lethal with it, or put points into 1-Handed or 2-Handed, and become stronger with your melee weaponry. With the ability to make skills legendary, there is no real level cap, only the limitation of how long you can play that character.

Your skill with bow won't increase with levels, it only increases with practice and perks. Bow is actually one of the most powerfull weapons at low skill levels. What you're probably encountering is player-skill, ie you. The game mechanics of aiming and firing a bow can be challenging, but only improve as you, the player, practice.

One secret of Skyrim is that player-races are mostly cosmetic. Wood elves aren't better or worse at anything than any other race. The very slight advantage of 5 ranks in a few skills can be balanced almost immediately with training or practice. Pick anything that's fun for you.

Being one who uses the bow (mostly crossbow fro Dawnguard DLC) then I can say that if you wish to capitalize on that weapon, then you must be in sneak mode when firing. This makes the shot more lethal and levels up archery and sneak faster. Bow is primarily a ranged weapon.

A good woodelf build would be something like.. Light armour, archery, sneak. Look for armour and jewelery pieces with Fortify Archery enchantments on them. (Armour pieces that have archery on them are helms/helmets, bracers and gloves. Apparel pieces are circlets, rings, amulets, hoods)

If you're into alchemy then you can make fortify archery potions with Canis root, elves ear, juniper berries, spider egg.

Starting out the game with just archery is hard, especially if you have enemies coming at you from all directions. So what I typically do is have a fall back melee weapon like a sword or war axe. These are one-handed weapons. So in the other hand you can have maybe a shield, another sword to duel-wield or, if you like magic, then a destruction spell. There's two more skills to level up just there.

Or, forgoing the bow entirely, you could try duel-wield swords. They are light, fast and I can see a woodelf using this technique also.

OO! And one more tip. When adventuring through SKyrim and you find books, skim over any that are below 50 gold in value (Unless you like reading). Anything OVER 50 gold is a skill book. Read them!

Never been to Forelhost, is it somerhing about the dungeon design?

To the OP- There is no level cap, but you start to become OverPowered at around LvL 50, unless you only invest in 'passive' perks (ones that don't improve combat abilities). Enchanting in particular can go crazy, especially with exploits.
With archery you won't One-shot most legitimate enemies, but there are ways to increase damage output; enchantments, poisons and sneak attacks. These methods are enhanced (respectively) by the Enchanting, Alchemy and Sneak skill tree's. For improved stealth and manoveurability, choose Light Armour over heavy.

Also, your game can get... slow if you have loads of saves for your character (autosaves don't effect this though). This may not happen if you're playing on a good device (I have a classic Xbox 360), so only think of this IF it happens; starting a new character seems to improve the speed.

Is it as bad as that place where the Cannibals congregate (in the Reach)? About 5 deathlords when i visited at LvL 41.

Whatever area you found is like going through Embershard on Novice at the beginning of the game compared to Forelhost.
Am I imagining this or, Liars Retreat seems sort of difficult for my level 62 Nord dual one-handed Daedric equipped with armor and weapon perks, and most of the Falmer seem to hit a lot of my health (I have around 350 or so). Their accuracy is so OP for them being blind...

Perhaps I should try re-finding my main follower (Kharjo; I lost him somewhere in that King Olaf's dungeon and he seemed to have tired of waiting) who is also equipped with Daedric armor. ;_; It's definitely difficult without a follower for me, aha.

Yeah, at higher levels enemy damage output can go awry. With perked out glass armour I was getting three-shotted by Bandit Marauders.

Level 62 would get you the strongest Falmer enemies but would also get you the strongest Draugr and Forelhost has twice as many Draugr as Liar's Retreat has Falmer and they're more packed in so you'll end up fighting 7-8 Dragur at once. Remember all of them can shout too. You also have strong Dragon priests with strong ice spells to deal with.

A handful of strong Falmer in a somewhat open space vs. Deathlords and Dragon Priests in a packed space.

So yea. Embershard Mine on Novice.

Oh gods. Dx I should have gone into Liars first for the Tavern Clothes when I was a lower level... The Draugr and priests I have no problem with, but the Forsworn and Falmer always seem to give me trouble. >< They did in the part where you had to kill Mercer Frey. Dies a few times, I've debated whether or not I want to decrease my difficulty (it's on Adept for my Nord and Apprentice for my High Elf).

Say, around what level do Legendary Dragons appear? Been dealing with Ancients so far so I guess soon? I'm wondering since I have no idea what to expect with them. Some dual power attacks let me kill within 5 to 7 hits, and any change on their appearance? (I've never once fought one and I'm kind of scared to tbh XD)

Yeah! I got my head bashed in by one the other day and I'm just like, "really, Shieyka (my Nord), you were bested by a bandit?!" Especially since they almost never gave me problems in the past, even Bandit Chiefs.

She does fall quickly to high tank mages though, which I can understand. Not to mention she's mostly enchanted with damage output/frost and die on her swords (not sure if there are better enchantments).

My lvl 75 Breton Assassin just started seeing Legendary Dragons. Wikia says 78+, so I guess they started coming a little early for my game. The one I killed was using fire attack, a pretty vicious attack seeing that my Breton is 80% magic resistant, the dragon was still doing some good damage.
