Darkness rises when Silence dies.
If you're reading this, the name likely got your attention. It's true. No mods, no "actual" glitches. This will be VERY informative. ;)

Step 1) Be ready to fight.
This means have reliable weapons and armor. Trust me.

Step 2) Seek Septimus Signus
Septimus Signus can be found in a cave north of the College of Winterhold.

Step 3) Transcribe the lexicon
Do what Septimus says.

Step 4) Disciphering the Transmundane
Finish the quest. When he opens it, and you get the book, DO NOT READ IT. DON'T. Pick it up, but DON'T read it.

Step 5) Get a house
Any house with a bookshelf.

Step 6) Bookshelf
Put the fancy book on the bookshelf. Now, read it WITHOUT taking it off. The book, if read normally, will enhance skills and disappear. This way, on the bookshelf, it ought not to. Do this multiple times. Takes only a few minutes. My cousin did it, and went from level 19 to level 81. Master difficulty. Yeah.... awesome trick.....

Yeah, this was patched over a year ago. Now you get a single read that ups you five levels in all skills in one area (Mage, warrior or thief). Still not a bad deal.

I have my Skyrim with the newest patch and all DLCs. I was able to marry my female Bosmer to a female Nord, so as far as I know it still works. I have heard that you don't get Lovers' Comfort if you marry same sex in game, but as my Bosmer is a werewolf at the moment, I have no idea if that's true or not because being one negates bonuses like that. Maybe another member can help with that part. :) I'm on PS3, if you're wondering, so no mods either.

Lovers Comfort works for my Male Orc with his Orc husband, even when he's following me.

Why use a glitch to go from level 19 to 81 in a day ? - it negates the challenge and longevity of the game.

This takes me back to the early days of, , , up, down, left, right, press summat 4 times and unlock everything, spoilt the game then spoils the game now.

just an opinion no offence intended.

Depends on how you play. Personally, I don't even start questing until lv81 at which point I jack up the difficulty to legendary. DLC's and all the main quest lines are way more fun at lv81 where everything is a Deathlord and all dragons are Elder or better. I still got 20 levels to gain before I read the scroll at the Time Wound.

My current build is level 62 with a very nice skill spread and all I've accomplished questwise is collecting all the Stones of Baranziah, cleared out Blackreach for Sendirion's Serendipity and a few side missions and daedric quests for specific gear. The rest of the game is waiting. Been playing this build for a month now pretty heavy and I really haven't even begun to institute my no fast-travel rule. That seems like pretty good longevity to me and it's plenty challenging, trust me.

Questing at higher levels is fine - I do it too. I was questioning why go from 19 to 81 in a day.

It's a personal thing obviously, I prefer to work my way through the levels I'm in no rush. My current character is somewhere around level 45 and I've still to do the assassins guild, civil war, thieves guild and numerous other quests as well as reading the time scroll. I don't fast travel anywhere and I mined everything I could for the Winstad Manor. I don't play heavily anymore, not like when it was launched, though I may drop back in having returned to this forum.

Oh, that's easy... to avoid weeks of grinding for the same basic result, a high level playthrough of the biggest possible magnitude. I would do it too if I didn't have the patches.
