Time for some ale
I think all of my characters visit the face changer, some more than others. I have rules about it though. I never alter the structure of any face. I only change hair colors and styles, including facial hair, (there is an old thread about this somewhere, called $1000 Haircut and Shave, or something of that nature). In the case of my Argonian, skin color was altered a couple times.

The only structural change I've made was to Dredressa Galadra, who simply grew up during the course of her career. I didn't alter her face though, that would be unrealistic. :beermug:

I almost always do, because I almost always don't like how my character ends up looking after initial character creation.

And yet...

I don't wear helmets :D Or only when charging into battle.

On the face changer, I've used it to remove/add warpaint and hair color and styles.

Hello everyone:)

PC Platform ...every time I start a new game for Sah.....the note book comes out with all her face & body settings..she has been the same for at least 5 full games.....only go to the face changer just to finish the side quest (find the face changer in Riften)

the PC offers you the "showracemenue" command........you can make a new character mid game if you want....even change name...warpaint ext.....never tryed a race change (is it possible?....if yes hows it affect all the stats?)
, it is here all the MODS installed show up like , extra hair styles, make up, eyes ext.

a MOD called Helmet Toggle - Show Hide by maniczombie (nexus) lets you use helmets but makes them invisible......that's why never wheres a helmet in videos

Just to change color of the hair, that's about it. 1000 septims just for a dye jobo_O

I use the face changer probably more often than I should. Sometimes to my characters' detriment, sometimes to their benefit; sometimes to enhance roleplay, sometimes just because I feel like it (or have gotten sick of the way my character looks at the moment) or messed up a feature when I first made the character.
My main character I changed a few things on, like hair color and style and war paint color and style, as well as eye color and skin color. And she is one of the few of my characters that benefited from it; she seems to look more like herself now, if that makes sense, though it took a few tries and a few thousand septims to make it work.
My Khajiit is the second to have used the face changer - she did with the first $1,000 she made to celebrate her enrollment in the TG and DB and I've regretted it ever since. Gypsy Moon was originally designed to look like a snow leopard, to better fit into her snowy environment, but once she enrolled in these less than savory guilds it just didn't seem right to have a bright white, blue eyed Khajiit sneaking around doing missions, so I made her mostly black. I hate it. With her next $1,000 she'll be going back to her snow leopard look, screw realism lol.
All my other characters have only seen the FC to complete the sidequest and correct various mistakes made during character creation, and/or add a scar or two after really tough battles. Seems to me the FC is a bit more flexible when it comes to things like that. :)

It's just a great option to have. I've certainly used her the most with my Argonian and Kahjiit, because their potential color options are near limitless. My Argonian currently matches his Daedric armor. Plus, by the time you're smithing Daedric armor, a $1000 is but pocket change. :beermug:

I'm very particular when it comes down to my character's appearance. If I don't like the way he/she looks after I exit Helgen cave, I roll the game back and start all over. Then I bring in my consultant....My wife and between the both of us, we'll hammer out a much improved character.

I've used it a few times. It's much better than bringing up the Race Menu with the console, since that can be glitchy or override your levelling. Amusingly I actually redo the face less often now that I use face-revealing helmets (god bless the mod that replaces the Dragonplate Helm with the Jagged Crown model).

When in doubt, follow the fox.
All the time. I've incorporated it into my gameplay. My character starts out unadorned, with short hair, as befitting a prisoner in rags. Over time, the hair grows, the face gets fine tuned, he/she will maybe start to wear makeup or warpaint, and the body may change from thin to buffed. The char may get more refined or more wild looking depending on personality. I'm obsessively picky about how my char looks so I'm constantly fine-tuning him or her.

I never used it, because I use the console ;-) --- I actually have used showracemenu quite a lot, to alter hairstyles, eye colour, scars, some other minor details. Started with short hair too, like ColleenG, and tried a variety of hairstyles since then. Oh, and initially my char was blonde :-D she wasn''t called Raven-Feather from the beginning, that was the story which developed around her while I was playing.

I'm interestend, How can the console showracemenu be glitchy, if you only change minor stuff? I know that you're not supposed to change the race, of course, but otherwise?
I only noticed that the lip colour always turns back to the left-most slider position if I open showracemenu. A bit tedious to always have to adjust it again...

Never underestimate the ability for Skyrim to be glitchy. Especially when you start using the developer console.

I will admit that sometimes it's preferable to wait for a sunny day in Whiterun and hitting showracemenu than trying to accurately gauge color and shading in the Ragged Flagon's dim, washed-out lighting.

My poor bosmer has been at the hands of the face butcher more often than she should, tbh. I have a particular ideal of how female wood elfs should look - high cheekbones, sculpted chins, plump lips. But I never do it right. Not on the first, third, or eighth visit. I change little bits each time til I literally can't change anything else.
