Regarding "Affiliations":
Mercenary bands are pretty common. The ones that focus on activities in Caesceum would be pretty normal. The ones that focus on taking missions into the wilderness aren't so lucky (extremely low life expectancies). While you may have become affiliated with them, very few of your associates would be very long lived, and you would likely have few long term friends due to them dying so much. Any who did survive for long periods or multiple missions are extremely lucky, extremely skilled, and/or too injured or damaged to continue active duty.
It wouldn't be too difficult to deal with the elves, dwarves, and the like. The Angelics, while they might generally be rather aloof, also wouldn't be terribly difficult (although frustrating) to deal with. There would be very few Draconics in the city, and none of them full fledged. You would have A LOT OF contact with them in the mercenary business, however, as they fill up pretty much any job that requires physical violence. The Demonics would not be difficult to associate with, and often times you probably associated with them without even being aware of it. Often times if you were, it was because they wanted you to, and you would count yourself lucky you survived whatever deadly mischief they had planned for you. The Shadoxen you would have absolutely zero chance of identifying, save for some suspicions. A fledgling might exhibit talents common to their race, but otherwise be counted as ordinary. A mature one would be almost nothing but an urban legend. Your best chance at even laying eyes on one would be if you were being briefed for an EXTREMELY important assignment, and they happened to be in the same briefing room. You might even consider them a godsend from whatever god(s) you believe in, as they would no doubt save your life many times.
However, you might also find there are some exceptions to these norms. A sympathetic and non aloof Angelic, a Draconic that isn't so violent or shares beliefs that would be deadly if uttered allowed within earshot of other Draconics, Demonics that are actually dialed down and serious, or Shadoxen that are actually outgoing, and those sorts of generalization shattering happenings. These would be EXTREMELY rare occurrences and most definitely exceptions to the rules.
One thing worthy of note is that there are a LOT of races other than humans, dwarves, elves, and my custom races. Basically look up a D&D or Pathfinder wiki, and look at the races. Most if not all of those, along with any race you would like to introduce, are present in Caesceum to some degree. There's even a massive underground, amounting to a city under a city. However, not every race made it to Caesceum in good condition, and so there are certain races who's numbers are alarmingly low.
