A controller is a must for me. AWSD and mouse controls simply don't bode well when I try and use them.

I just recently bought a controller (I play on my pc) and god, I suck so bad it's not even funny. So, mouse and keyboard for me

Keyboard all the way. I played Skyrim on the Xbox and the PS3 before I got SKyrim for the PC, and I must say I am glad I have the keyboard now.

Nope. I prefer my trusty keyboard and mouse when playing at my desk. This is because, when I'm playing at my desk I get more serious and need that precision aiming. But if I want to play while in bed, I get the controller out just for the ease of use factor, but me playing Skyrim in bed rarely happens anyway.

The first time I played a Elder Scrolls game was Oblivion on the PS3. For awhile that was the only way I played the game. I eventually heard about how awesome the modding community was and grabbed a copy on PC. I never even thought to try to play with the controller. Keyboard and mouse work fine, there are UI problems with items and such but they can easily be fixed via mods.

My 360 controller finally pooped out on me, so I am stuck with mouse and Keyboard. The I miss the smooth camera movement. even though patches have made it better than when I tried years ago, it is still noticeably more "janky" than with a controller. .ini tweaks have helped, but to my eye, it is painful.

Could just be my mods though, I have seen nearly vanilla let's plays that seem to run smoothly.

I prefer a controller. Ive been a console player for most of my life so im used to them. Im okay with the keyboard and mouse but ill perform better with a controller.

Well when playing on a console you can move around and also, not have to sit close to the screen and can sit on your bed or floor or the chair when playing the game. On the laptop or computer it can take time getting used to knowing the controls and figuring out which one is which especially when battling foes it can mean health lost or dead from pressing the wrong key at the wrong time. The PC does have better graphics though, which can make the game more enjoyable if you learn which key does which on the keyboard.

I use keyboard and mouse for most games, but for Skyrim a controller is a must for smoother gameplay and good character control. The game, like it or not, is a console port. If you want silky smooth gameplay @60fps, you almost HAVE to have a controller. Also, I have much more control over stealthy characters. With WASD movement you really only have three speeds, Extremely slow (with walk toggled), Normal Speed, and Sprint. With a controller, you can move around in stealth at any speed. It's great. Not to mention rumble and horse control.

I just prefer the keyboard, moving the screen is very annoying when I'm using the controller. I also find it easier to use WSAD because I'm mostly a PC gamer and it's easier for me. Just my 2 Cents

I am a computer gamer at heart, so keyboard and mouse is the way to go for me. Besides, I played skyrim on the computer before the console version was even released, so I had become used to playing it with a keyboard and mouse. When I got finally got the console version, the controller kept annoying me. What I like most about using keyboard and mouse is that it is extremely easy to enter the console which allows me to mod the game. Mods make the game extremely fun and keep it from getting old.

I only use controllers for serious gaming since I play a lot of console games. Unless it is Minecraft then I'm sticking with my Xbox controller for everything.

I have played on both the console and the PC. I am really thinking of getting a controller for my PC on my next paycheck.

Depends on the game, Strategy games I always will need a keyboard, just can't see them being played with a controller, too much to do for the controller to be able to handle it all.

Keyboards for more complex games or Hotkey games that you need different keys for different skill commands. Perhaps Competative games and FPS's where mouse sensitivity is the difference between surviving or dying ingame.

Controller for the majority though unless it NEEDS to be keyboard.

As long as ive got a mouse on my right hand the left hand can do w/e lol. After having my right hand on a mouse to control my view for years I cant see going back to a joystick for any reason ever other than mice suddenly vanishing from existence lol. As for keyboard....well itd be nice if that had a joystick for moving but as long as I dont need a joystick to look around im good. Just so clunky and unnatural feeling.
