I'm new to Skyrim. Realizing It's a Huge content game...From what I've heard
you're supposed to work on - leveling up your Smithing and Enchanting skills, right away.

I'm at Level 5- Wood Elf . And it seems like I never have enough gold to get all the Ingots.
Or maybe, I have to wait till i'm a higher level to really start working on those skills.

There's quite a few videos on YT, about leveling up those skills. Most are confusing.
I wonder If anybody can help out, with sending any good video links, that are easy to understand. About leveling up Smithing and Enchanting? Much appreciated

Welcome!

You won't be able to do much crafting at first, especially enchanting. You need to explore barrows, dungeons, and caves. You'll gain experience to level up your combat skills, and you'll loot urns, chests, and the bodies of the dead for gold and items to sell. Sometimes you'll get lucky and find enchanted items, which are essential if you want to do your own enchantments, as are soul gems, which don't occur in abundance at lower levels. So explore, do quests, take jobs from innkeepers, kill and plunder. And always drink the mead. :beermug:

Honestly the best advice I think you could get is for you to close your browser, stay away from forums and youtube, and just throw yourself into the game. So much of the enjoyment of the experience is exploring and discovering everything yourself and this makes it so much more immersive. That experience doesn't last forever, so make the most of it now and enjoy!

I agree with CitizenKane: while it may take longer, it is far better to find things out for yourself, rather than being given all the answers.

Spoiler: However, if you really want to speed up Smithing, one hint. Halted Stream.

It's best to explore the game for yourself. Make mistakes and learn from them.

Don't feel pressured into focusing on crafting just for the sake of leveling up, because that can get very boring. You will struggle for cash early in the game, but as time goes on you'll find yourself earning money quite easily from selling unwanted items and clearing dungeons.

Enchanting is difficult to get into straight away, because soul gems are hard to find early in the game, so you're better off keeping your first enchanted items in tact.

Some other pointers to make things a bit easier early in the game:

Don't bother spending money on weapons, armour and potions. Weapons and armour can be found easily from defeated enemies or just lying around in dungeons and bandit hideouts. You can mix your own potions for free by picking up ingredients and using an alchemy lab (blue mountain flowers and wheat make healing potions, and are quite abundant in farms or out in the wild)

Do accept quests from blacksmiths and alchemists. These quests are usually easy, like a delivery in the same town, and yield small rewards, BUT you will also gain free access to some of their wares.

If you're having a tough time with a certain quest, leave it and move onto another one, and come back to it later when you are tougher or have better equipment.

Try taking a follower on your quests with you and let them help you out with the fighting. There are a lot of NPCs in Skyrim that can become followers if you do a quest for them (sometimes a simple task like giving them a drink or winning a fistfight) and they are quite tough. Just make sure your own attacks don't damage them during combat!

This.

But a smithing tip: forget the ingots, go with leather. It's cheaper to buy, and with the millions of wolves running around Skyrim you're going to pick up pelts wherever you go, too. I usually just make leather armor until I get Dwarven Smithing, then I'll run through a couple of Dwemer ruins to pick up scrap Dwarven metal (not all of it makes ingots, though - here's a list of what will) and make Dwarven bows. Once you get Ebony Smithing, you'll be able to afford ebony ingots no problem, and then start making ebony bows.

Thanks, to everyone who replied, All were good!... Usually with anything else, I just start playing and exploring, pick things up gradually.
If you get involved with too many YT videos. A big game like this can get overwhelming...Besides it all comes together after a mug of Mead ! :beermug:

Don't worry too much about crafting, level that up as you go. You don't want to power level or level up non-combat skills too high, else you'll end up with a fancy sword and armor you can barely use.

Just take it easy, explore, get used to the game. Figure out your playstyle, what you like, don't like etc. Try a bit of everything on your first go.
