PC Need help with a bug in Markarth

Aslong as you dont enter the shrine of talos, you wont encounter the guards that arrest you on sight (that will lead you to the forworn conspiracy quest prison)

Are you trying to complete "A Night to remember"? I think you can still do this quest - you just have to encounter Sam Guevenne in one of the city inn's.

You mustve encountered Thonar because you pickpocketed his journal, I think if he is killed you dont get the Silver blood family ring at the end of the Escape Cidnha mine quest.

Edit: If Eltry's was found dead for no apparant reason, the quest may be incompletable, have to revert to a previous save - BUT if the guards are trying to arrest you in the shrine, the quest CAN be completed, since you just get yourself sent to prison, continuing the quest.

Thanks but the guards aren't my problem, i can still move around the city and do other stuff, the thing is this quest is now on its final stage and i didn't do any of the previous steps, i just walked in there, found this guy's body and the guards speaking about things i don't know about. I want to reset it on stage 0 to be able to start it from scratch and complete it normally.

Yeah, I can understand completely, I think though, your only option is to revert to a previous save - Skyrim tends to have some annoying bugs so saving often, not relying on auto saves is a must.

Basically the quest that is bugged leads to "Escape from Cidnha Mine"

Eltry's asks you to gather info, I wont spoil it, but if the guards are saying "Dont ask questions" etc, then your at a point where you either have to continue it, or revert back some gametime.

You didn't miss much though, nothing extremely important, no cool items or anything hugely important, certainly not related to the main quest anyway.

Yeah saving often seems to be a must, i learned it the hard way lol.

I still want to complete the q normally though and going back to a previous save is not an option :/
I will test my luck and change the quest's stage to 0 hoping it wont cause more problems.

update: it seems no matter what i do with the console commands this quest is ruined, i can go back in some stages but the bugs are everywhere making it impossible to progress smoothly, my best choice is to go straight to Talos' shrine (stage 90), find the dead body and move on.
