Nah, they're more like James Earl Ray.

It's not a perfect comparison, mind you. After all, the civil rights movement wasn't laying ruin to the countryside. Maybe Malcom X's killers would be better, but I don't know their names.

While I agree, I don't know if I would compare Paathurnax to Martin Luther King and Malcolm X given his very very shady past, but then again, that's also what I love about every character in this game, no one is a hero nor a villain, no one's hands are clean.

Well, that's why I added the corollary. And I think Malcom X is an okay fit, as he was rather militant when part of the Nation of Islam, but repudiated them in his later years.

His killers purportedly were, btw, Norman 3X Butler, Thomas 15X Johnson, and Talmadge Hayer, according to the old Wikipedia. Still not a perfect fit, as they were part of the Nation of Islam as well. It would be a better fit if Odahviing asked you to kill ol' Paarthy.

Truth be told, I'd think that one who killed Paarthurnax would be more similar to John Hinkley Jr, in as much as Hinkley tried to kill President Reagan to get the attention of Jodie Foster, and killing Paarthurnax is usually done to get back into the good graces of the Blades.

Wow, that's pretty deep but no...

Paarth dies because he can't be trusted. Paarth dies to pay for his crimes of the past in which he was responsible for many atrocities towards mankind. Screw the Blades... I kill Paarth every time because with Alduin finally and truly out of his way after all these years, he may just get a hair on his ass to turn on me like he turned on his own kind. Once a traitor, always a traitor.

Best thread I've seen in a while btw. I always knew there was a reason why I disliked Ulfric.

Oh, I dislike Ulfric for several reasons, foremost being that he's doing EXACTLY what the Thalmor want, and doesn't even stop to realize this fact. I don't know if he's short sighted, or just an idiot. (Isn't it funny how idiot and ideologue are so blatantly similar?)

Same here. Never liked him, even on the wagon ride he was a jerk imo. Though I must admit that I held a grudge for a long time after I read the Windhelm Letters until I realized that he wasn't even ruling when those were penned... bah, who am I kidding, I still blame the jerk.
