Kohlar the Unkilled

Time for some ale
My most recent battle in the Rift prompted me to create this thread. Twas ludicrous.

I'm level 15, assigned to track down Florentius for the Dawnguard. Traveling with Ingjard and my attack dog not far outside Riften, we're attacked by three trolls. I tried to stand toe to toe with them and quickly, I died. The second time I attempted a more tactical approach, utilizing the crossbow while they approached. Yet once again, the battle turned for the worse. I was nearly dead, Ingjard was on her knees, and my dog had fled. I turned and ran. Trolls are easily outrun, and with all three chasing me, Ingard and the dog would get a chance to catch their breath and rejoin the battle. Seemed like a good plan, but then things got ridiculous. As if three trolls weren't enough, I nearly ran face first into a giant frostbite spider. I desperately circumnavigated the spider, attempting to heal myself as I ran, praying not to get poisoned. Then, I feel something bite me in the ass. I turn to find three skeevers lunging in near synchronicity. By now I'm thinking, "Oh by the holy hairy armpit of Stendarr, come ON!"

This story's ending is both happy and sad. Looking Death in the eye, I slaughter the skeevers, and resume my novice healing. The trolls were throwing haymakers at the giant spider, and two of the three perished in the scuffle, as did the spider. I ran past the remaining troll to rejoin my commrades. Together, we obliterated the final beast. My poor, faithful dog did not survive.

Now, feel free to discuss this, or your own Ludicrous Encounters. :beermug:

So here I am hunting in the reach........
Y'know what else is in the reach that likes to kill deer that you may or may not be hunting? Sabercats.
Y'know what else you might find in parts of the reach? Spriggans!!!
So here I am, fleeing a sabercat that took offense to me shooting it when it killed the deer I was stalking, when I happen upon not one, but 2 fricken Spriggans!!!!!
Being the survivalist that I am, I fled, trying to get back to the orc stronghold down the road since they'll help one of their own right? Well there's a bear on that road, and I was already severely wounded....... You can tell where this is going right?
The worst part about all of that? My nearest save was when I left Markarth, and I never did get that deer carcass.

I was travelling across skyrim, I can't remember where but it was near a word wall, guarded by a rather angry ancient dragon with flame shout. Being a Nord at the time I was highly flammable, but that wasn't the only problem. The ancient dragon had a homie. His Revered cousin decided to whoop my ass as well. I turned and ran down the hillside...straight into the hairy arms of not one but three Werewolf Vargar! Needless to say I died spectacularly.

I was once in a Nord ruin when I was attacked by skeevers. I hit one with my sword and it flew up in the air and morphed into the ceiling where it proceeded to run around crazily. All I could see was it's creepy little paws sticking out through the rock. I also had the same thing happened to me once in a cave with a bear.

This isn't a ludicrous encounter, per-say, but it did cause me to set my controller down and take a walk.

I was level 10 or so, and was walking to Rannveig's Fast, I usually do a couple radiant quests for the companions early on, just to get my feet wet.

From Drelas' Cottage to my destination, I must have ran into every single saber cat in Skyrim. It was absolutely insane. I usually start off at expert or master and switch to legendary at some point, but this time, after the 34th Saber Cat had mated with Nord's dead corpse, I turned the difficulty down and went Kitty hunting for about an hour and a half.

I had some foes with utterly ludicrous choices as to the perfect moment to attack the Dovahkiin last time I played the Civil War quest.

I failed to give Ulfric Balgruuf's axe in the afternoon. I was roleplaying, so I went hurrying as fast as I could back to Whiterun to warn my Jarl, who promptly sent me back out to help defend the city. It was evening by then, and the streets were full of riled up citizens racing home and riled up guards trying to get to the fight. And that was the moment the Vampire Master and his two thralls decided to raid Whiterun. What really makes me shake my head is that he must have marched past the invading Stormcloak army to get into Whiterun and he still thought: "Yes, this is the perfect moment to strike fear into the hearts of Whiterun's citizens!"

Then later the Boethiah cultist decided to attack. You know how the Boethiah cultist always appears once you hit level 30? Well, that character hit level 30 inside the fort at Winterhold while she was freeing the prisoners to do a surprise attack from within, so the Boethiah Cultist launched his assault the second we all poured out of the fort doors to begin that surprise attack. Presumably the cultist must have raced right into the melee screaming: "Finally! A worthy challenge!" I say presumably because I never actually saw him what with all the two armies hacking and slashing everything in their path. 20 seconds into the fight I was bewildered when the misc objective: Investigate the Boethiah Cultist popped up on my screen.

How do you backstab a Dragon?
Coming back from stealing Frost and ran in to the 3 bears (you know the ones - on the path back to Riften) - that would have been a toughy, but who shows up? Those dern cultists! And then a dragon (I have to learn to stop fast traveling - they spawn every time). Fortunately the bears attacked Louis Letrush and then the cultists while the dragon was blowing smoke at all of them. Once the cultists and the bears were all dead via the dragon, I would have thought it would have turned on me, but, no! It turned on Louis, who, surprisingly, apparently punched it to death with one punch (boy! the cultists and bear must have really done a number of the dragon) and then he proceeded on his merry way.

Sure it wasn't too epic for me personally, but I truly wish I'd a bottle of wine and a bowl of popcorn. Oddly, Frost didn't even involve himself. He just stood there next to me and watched the show.

Same thing happened to me, but I missed the vampire attack and came upon the carnage afterwards when I was running to the city gates. There were bodies everywhere with one lone guard standing among them all. I lost half of Whiterun that evening.

I also had three hired thugs try their luck straight after me and the Whiterun guards killed the dragon at the tower. Well I never had to lay a finger on them as the guards, all hyped up on defeating a dragon, instantly attacked the poorly timed thugs.

Ah yes, the Hired Thugs. First time I went out of Goldenglow Estate with the bill of sale in my pocket I heard: "We're here to teach you a lesson." It was: The Goldenglow Mercenaries don't notice you burning down beehives when they are busy murdering Hired Thugs."

In my game session just now, I managed to take down Krosis at level 4. When I say 'managed to take down' I mean I ran and ran and ran until I blundered into a random giant strolling in the Whiterun tundra near Loreius farm.

I was actually trying to persuade Krosis to chase me to Korvunjund so the bandits could deal with him or Loreius Farm so the guard and Cicero could deal with him (Don't look at me like that, he's essential) but that worked too.

Okay, so I didn't actually kill Krosis myself, but I still had to work hard for that victory. It actually took a lot of effort and time coaxing Krosis to follow me so far while avoiding his fireballs and atronauch. And the giant didn't do ALL the work. Before getting him to chase me I used every power, potion and scroll I had to shave 1/8th of Krosis's health off him.

So I'm Level 37 playing with my Redguard version of Aela at Darkwater Crossing to mine come Corundum Ore so that I can create some locks for my house at Hjerchen(sp?) Hall. When I finish and come back outside to smelt it into ingots it says that I can't do it while enemies are nearby. Cue the Skyrim theme! A dragon spawns in the sky and flies on over to the settlement blasting everyone with flame. Being ever so ready I took out my trusty ebony bow and started shooting arrows with precision, all of them hitting the dragon. So when the dragon's health is at about 2/3 I get blasted with ice and I'm thinking "dragons can shoot two different attacks at once?" I look around and a second dragon has come to the scene helping his comrade paint the earth in fire and ice. So as I'm preparing for another shot I get Fus Ro Dahed by the second dragon sending me flying towards the cave. At this point I realize that I'm going to die if I don't get help so I take out the Sanguine Rose and summon a Dremora. "A challenger is near!" is heard from the lips of the Dremora as he brandishes his weapon while charging towards the dragons. While he occupies the stronger dragon I shoot arrows at the weaker one until he cries out for his death signaling that his time is up. I look at the second dragon who's just been downed by the Dremora. Seeing no other danger, I sheathed my weapon. However the Dremora yells out "I smell weakness" as he runs towards the crags. To my horror I see the target coming as I turn to see a Giant Frostbite Spider marching it's way towards Darkwater Crossing. I knew they were huge, but by Tall Papa I did not realize the true size of this fearsome creature. It came into a crazy battle with my Dremora as they traded blow after blow with each other. The Dremora was about to deliver the finishing blow when it choked out and disappeared. The 60 seconds have already been used up. As the spider resumed it's pursuit it was met with a killcam arrow to the eye (we call that a Xiahou Dun). It reached for the skies asking the heavens why it had forsaken it before dropping to the ground dead.

and this is why I don't like going past Level 35

I don't believe in all the time I've played, that I've ever been attacked by two dragons at once, with the exception of the Forgotten Vale, of course. Well done. :beermug:

I am returning the Forgemasters fingers to the Eastmkarch stronghold. Passing the Warlock lair just south of the Orcs, I find a deceased woman. Realising its my first ever Werewolf encounter, my LVL 14 Stormcloak archer followed the sounds of some poor Conjurers screams nearby in the hopes of finding the mutt.
Long story short, not Only was the Werewolf tough, he was accompanied by (& I kid you not) 7 WOLVES. As I turn to flee (on a horse, BTW, bought with Gray Quarter tax money;)) My horse almost instantly buckarooed me, and it was only with my Nord Battle-cry that I made it back to the Stronghold alive. Me and my newly-made Orc buddies were defending the stronghold for a good 10 mins IRL Until the Wolves, the Lycan, and a Sabre-cat (dont ask) were all dead.
Then as a Wtf 2 minutes later, an Old Orc walks into the stronghold, and asks me (out of everyone there) for a 'good Orc death'.

First time going through Forelhost, not to mention on Master difficulty:

Two Draugr Deathlords, one Draugr Overlord, and several other varying degrees of lesser Draugr all swarming me at the same time.

I had no Potions of Healing left (this character does not rely on Restoration), had some disease that cut my Magicka regeneration in half, and also no follower, although I was able to cast a Frost Atronach and use Revenant to occasionally revive the lesser fallen Draugr. Luckily, I was able to pick them off one by one by chugging Magicka potions, repeatedly reviving the slain Draugr, and getting some attacks of opportunity in while the Deathlords were busy with my summons.

I sill need to go back through and collect all the loot I was unable to carry because I honestly just wanted to get the hell out of there. The whole ordeal was nightmarish, to say the least. I was seeing Draugr in my dreams later that night...

I was inside my home, working on some furniture one day, and realized I had used up the last of my lumber. I suited up in my favorite armor, took my trusty battle axe from the wall and set out for the mill.

Upon stepping out my front door, I saw a giant waiting for my in my yard. "I got this" I thought to myself and began battling said giant, when behind me I hear the clicking of a mudcrab. How annoying, sneak attacked by a mudcrab while fighting a giant. Now I had two nuisances to deal with. While fighting off my adversaries, and taking my fair share of damage in the process, a dark shadow passes over me accompanied by the tell tale screech of a dragon.

It was a hard fought battle, but in the end I was victorious.

I've had it happen quite often. One time was in Winterhold during a blizzard. The two dragons were both fire breathers and hard to kill. I eventually defeated one then the other, and they landed pretty much side by side up the road. So I am standing there, among two huge dragon skeletons, receiving their souls, when a Guard walks up with his torch and says to me: "I need to ask you to stop. That... Shouting... it's making people nervous."
umm.. ok I'll leave the dragons to you to defeat next time shall I?

Oh Forelhost...
I don't know what level I was on but it was Master difficulty as well and every single Draugr I got was a Deathlord. EVERY..SINGLE..ONE! Even at the end with the Dragonpriest and his SIX Deathlord cronies. I was whimpering by the time I got out of there. Needless to say that jerk who tried to betray me got an arrow in the back of the head. That is the one and only time I have gone fully through that place. I always go there, but just inside enough to pick up two sets of ancient Nord Armour, then I turn tail and run out of there!

I was at Riverwood when a Dragon attacked, it was at this moment a Master Vampire, another Vampire and a Thrall decided to attack. It was also at this moment where two Dragonborn DLC Cultists, a Dawnguard Orc and a Courier with a letter from the Jarl kept trying to talk to me while I'm trying to make sure no one dies.

It was a moment of much reloading, much avoiding death and people who wish to talk at the wrong damn time.

-

Another encounter was when I had come across my first legendary dragon north of Whiterun. In somewhat of a rush to get to a location, I pulled out my Dragonbone battleaxe and said "Perhaps you haven't heard of me. Or what I do for a living."

It was then a second legendary Dragon appeared... I felt a new found fear I had not known for many levels.

"Ah, I see you have heard of me."

I did what any legendary hero, and godlike being would do... I ran fast, faster than I had ever run before! (Hold guard accent)

Those bastards nearly wiped out the entire population of Whiterun Hold chasing me.
