How do you backstab a Dragon?
So, now my girl Ingin's a vampire.

Thus far it's YAWN!

Ooo - great she can turn in to this frightening creature, who, apparently is far too large for 90% of the combat situations that are indoors. Sure, the health drain is great! Whatever. I can raise the dead! Wait, I could already do that. Wow! I can resist frost... wait, I already had 50% since I'm a Nord, so this just adds to that? Oooo! A swarm of bats! Oooo! A cloud of mist! Again, Yawn! Ooo! Vampire seduction. Whatever - once a day I can calm somebody down.. wait! I already have calm and pacify that can do the same thing. Vampire grip is cool, I'll give you that, but I already have telekinesis and, frankly, it's more fun throwing things AT people, not throwing the people themselves.

I guess the biggest changes I've seen are that she now has glowing orange eyes and sizzles in the sun.

Is this all there is?

Maybe level 85 is too high to go this route.

On the plus side, I can move my kids to Solitude now and remake all my houses to be magicians fortresses with and build coffins in the cellar.

I'll need to become a night owl, I suppose, and start wearing hooded robes when I go shopping and bartering. Could be worse, I suppose.

On the plus side, at least I'll end up with a castle eventually.

And there are gonna be some big changes guys! No more bones laying about and no bloody corpses cluttering up my dining room.

Neatness my vampires. Neatness! We're not those uncivilized cave dwellers.

:)

I'm thinking that, maybe, just maybe, it's time to take a break from Skyrim again. I swore that I would complete all the questlines this time, but, if I'm this bored with being a critter as cool as a Vampire Lord, what does that say about the rest of Skyrim.

Maybe a bout of Assassins Creed III just to break things up and get away from Fantasy for a bit?

Hmm...

You didn't notice that once you turned her in to a 'wife'?

Don't underestimate those glowing orange eyes, especially when she's giving your the puppy face.

Are the kids affected, too? One big, happy, blood-sucking family?

Fortunately she's not married. Can't find the right guy (or gal - okay, except Serana and you can't marry her). The guys are all such wimps or sexist jerks and the girls are either fembots or bull-dykes.

Once she sends the kids to Solitude, she'll probably never see them again. She really only wants them out of the house so she can turn all her non-city properties in to vampire lairs!

Well, vampire lairs need servants. Sending the kids to Solitude would be kind of a waste of your resources, in my opinion. And if you're all discovered, you have bait to distract the guards for a little while anyway.

Just noticed something about VL's today. I never heard of it being mentioned before. There is a VL perk far along the line that unlocks a spell called 'Corpse Curse'. Its a rather cheap paralyze spell that works quite well against tougher foes, who can be real annoying as a Demonic floating bloodsucker. I have found it really useful in the past.

Agree, but, then again, I already know that spell and usually have it equipped in my left hand anyhow, regardless of whether I'm a vampire or not. Hmm...

So far, so good with Ingin. Being a vampire is not that big a deal really, although I'm moving all my belongings to Heljarchen Hall. It seems a good vampire lair and I already have it all set up with enchanting, library and alchemy towers and have a coffin in the basement. Little by little I'm abandoning my homes in the major holds and moving everything over. Moved the kids to Solitude since Jordis seems a far better caretaker than Reyya, plus, the chance of giant, bandit and animal attacks in downtown NY (sorry Solitude) is far lower.

Couple of questions for y'all to weigh in on for me though:

1) Having trouble power attacking (bite) as a VL. How does one do it? I hold down the power attack as I usually would but all I get is a claw attack.

2) If I do want to feed, can I just paralyze somebody on the road and feed off them? Do they need to be asleep or something? While I've played many times as a vamp in the past, I never feed, except off of Castle cattle, so I wanted to give it a try.

3) What do y'all wear during the day in your RP? Me, while I still wear my vamp armor (that I've had since level 20) and my Dragonscale Boots and Gauntlets, I can't justify hanging around the general populace in just my circlet. If I think I look freaky, I don't care what the game says, other people have got to be a little disturbed by the glowing orange eyes, pale complexion and general blotchiness (when you haven't been feeding or transforming regularly). I have taken to wearing the Shrouded Hood. I tried the Robes of Resurgence, but that was just too much. I'm not a Jedi for goodness sake.

Thoughts?

1) Do you mean the bite attack? That only works if the targets health is low, and they cant be blocking. I dont recall any regular pwer attacks as a VL.
2) Asleep, or under the effect of Vampire's Seduction (more than just a calm spell).
3) Based on what you've done they may already have despawned, but I found the Execution hoods from the abandoned shcak to be the ultimate face concealer (looks weird on your head though). Hoods are the right way to go I think, Its a shame Dawnguard removes Vampires that spawn with Hooded black robes.

Thank you.
1) Did not know that and didn't see info on it on the Wiki. So it's kind of pointless, eh? I'm not going to watch their health that closely, I'll just kill them.
2) Dern it! I guess I'll try it if I ever find a sleeping person, but I'm not the kind of vampire to break in to someone's home just to feed. That's just rude. Besides, 99% of 'em don't have anything worth stealing anyhow so it wouldn't be worth it.
3) Oh well. I don't mind the shrouded hood. It matches the outfit really well. :) You're right though, the execution hoods do look a little freaky on you. Besides, don't you think the general public would look at you askance if you were wearing a bag over your head?
