Currently I'm spending a lot of time in Skryim just so I can get the damned thing finished. I've been at it for well over a month with at least 5 hours a day on it and I'm nowhere near finished.

At some point, regardless of the RP or immersion, it just ends up being a grind.

I love ya Ingin, but would you finish doing everything already?

At least you're committed. I seem to end up starting over every few days or so for stupid reasons and have no idea why.
Honestly, I love my character, but I am definitely getting bored. Endless fetch this, steal that, plant this, kill this person, wander through some Drauger ruin or Dwemer maze to find something, help this guy, help that gal, kill this dragon, kill that dragon... blah, blah, blah... It doesn't matter the difficulty. The higher the difficulty, the longer it takes, the lower, the less challenge. I think I'm burning out again and it'll be another 6 month break coming up.

I just want to finish the stupid game 100% (or therebouts) once, just once. Is that asking too much? I want to get on to do 100% of all my games, just once (don't be disturbed, I only have about 10 games - I'm kind of picky).

That's just it. TES games can never truly be beaten. No matter what there's always something to do, regardless of seeming importance.

Also only 10 games? You need to live a little. Get more variety in your inventory.

Nope. Unfortunately I loathe shooters, have no use for sports games (I'd rather just play them), have no interest in Sci-Fi games, platformers, driving or Lego/children's games. It really limits me. On the plus side, at least Witcher is coming out so I'll have game 11!

I remember playing for 8 hours straignt and was really into the game and seemed like I am a part of the game and the environment is enjoyable and the story is really engaging which keeps you playing. I like how you have different choices and what happens if you make a good or bad choice which is interesting to see happen. The time can go real slow or quick sometimes and is really strange how quick it goes by sometimes.

Sorry for the OT: Loath shooters? I didn't realize that was possible. Just FPS or anything involving a gun?

I've done a 9 hour binge before without even noticing it. I had just gotten in to the Dawnguard DLC and got absorbed into the story line way too much.

I honestly haven't thought about it until now. Yesterday I started playing around 2:30, and I took a couple short breaks, but it was pretty much Skyrim until 2:30 am.

I'm not really burned out at the moment because the last few times I've tried a playthrough, I've ended up breaking the game experimenting with mods, and haven't been past level 20 in about a year. I've had to wipe the slate clean and start over 8-10 times in the last few months. I just can't leave well-enough alone. It's always, "Just one more mod.... that's all"

You have no idea how lucky you are. What I would do to get Falskaar on the 360...:ashstab:

^^^ THIS!
I would so love to see Xbox be able to mod, well, ANYTHING!

My longest play session was about 18 hours on release day. I actually fell asleep WHILE playing because I was so exhausted!

No, but the unfortunate fact is that many of us truly are obsessed with the game. I am not lying when I tell you that I play from 6:30 - 11:00 after work Mo-Friday and from 10:00am to 10:00pm on Saturdays and Sundays. Now realize that I do break for a few minutes from time to time for food or bathroom, but that's the way it is and that, occasionally I do have a real life, but that's my general schedule (I'm at work or asleep all the other times).
I'll be quitting soon and moving on to another game or another activity, but, when I'm playing Skyrim, it's one of the few things that absorbs me obsessively for hours and months on end.

Why would they do that? Surely everyone must be telling the trust on the internet. (Persuade)[/QUOTE]

Just opposite, lying is easyest on NET.

I don't remember accusing anyone for "not having real life", just saying my thoughts.

You didn't. I'm the one who accused myself of not having a "real-life", no, wait... I came right out and said I don't have a "real-life" when I play Skyrim :D. Thank goodness I occasionally get bored and actual do something! I have a feeling that I should do laundry... the towels are trying to escape from the bathroom again. :) Remember the ole saying: "Skyrim isn't a game, it's a Way of Life!"

My feelings are quite the opposite. I have a hard time believing those saying they only play 2-3 hours at a time. At least personally, my hardcore gaming is over; and that's almost a blessing as the sessions I used to have with older titles like Perfect Dark and Sonic 3D Blast, would have been far less believable to you than a meager 16 hour one.

I mean, you can't even complete most of the quests in that time. I don't think you could go for immersion very well if you're just a fly-by nighter. :)
