Kohlar the Unkilled

Time for some ale
Was thinking of building a character who would go from Riverwood, to Whiterun, to Fort Dawnguard. Surely one doesn't need the quest to get in, or does one? Could I even make it through Dimhollow Crypt at level 2 or 3?

I've wanted to do this for awhile now. I'd be a Redguard, because I've never been one, (perhaps be some long lost cousin of Isran). I like the look of the armor and weapons, I like the fort, and I like Ingjard. I can imagine how damaging to vampires I would be, duel wielding Dawnguard war axes with a fire enchantment added, (or fiery Soultrap). I could sleep and trade almost exclusively in the fort. Anyone ever done this?

I haven't done it myself but I have heard others say that they can walk into Fort Dawnguard and start the questline with no problem. I'd imagine that it would be pretty hard to survive at such a low level though. Any particular reason to start it so early? The first ten levels of Skyrim can go by pretty quickly so its not like you would need to do a ton of questing.

I figured as much. Showing up at level 3 would be foolish. My thief got slaughtered by the Dimhollow vamps and gargoyles at level 15, but that was on master. I'll probably start this one on adept, or maybe expert.

The journey itself will be arduous, assuming I don't ride the carriage to Riften, (which I won't). So I'll hang around Whiterun long enough beat the crap out of Uthgerd, kill the first Dragon and discover my thuum. I'll do as much smithing as I can, then set out on foot toward the Rift. Once I get set up at Fort Dawnguard, and assuming I survive Dimhollow, I can do radiant quests to help level up while improving my smithing and enchanting.

Nope. I checked her in CK and she's not part of the potential marriage faction.

I don't know how familiar you are with Ft. Dawnguard, but don't trust any of the barrels or chests. Once you get the bedroom, the furniture is safe. Until then, there is one small piece of furniture, on the immediate right as you walk into the main-floor bunkroom, which is safe storage. Everything else in that place seems to respawn.dawnguardsafestorage.jpg
