Just a quick bit of advice, but do not get far from him. He will use his paralyze bow and fuk you up! @-@

Make a bunch of poisons and always have a follower who you either don't care about or won't die. Don't forget to also use conjugation.

Or you can do what I did and pickpocket his potions! :p
Then he is all yours! HAHAHAHA-hehehe...*clears throat*.
Conjugation? Does he have bad grammar? :) (I'm just kidding, I thought it was funny).
What? Hmm? Hmm? I don't know what you're talking about....edits

Hit level 60 today. Still haven't taken any of the niche perks I wouldn't normally take but there's still plenty of time

Sticking with your frost enchant/Stalhrim theme, you COULD summon Karstaag to fight him. Though I understand getting that power is a challenge within itself...
Having never foughrt the EW before, My advice would be to just keep his attention away from you. Dragons, Daedra, whatever you can summon, just use it. Arniel Gane as a summon is an essential....
Also, dont think this has to be a 1v1 (minus summons). Bring a follower! They may not fight as well as you, but you can give them just as good gear. Pick a tough melee class, for the same reason as your summons. Make sure to Soul Trap and name a weapon after him!

The DLCs are still pretty new to me- I found Karstaag's skull in a recent game but didn't know you could do anything with it. I like the idea of summoning a frost giant! I'm on it

I've decided not to do conjuration and instead use the Sanguine Rose and other methods of conjuring. Conjuration requires so many perks I don't think I can get away with using it without damaging my warrior abilities, even though twin souls would be incredible.

I'm going to take Frea as my follower. Levels indefinitely and should make a decent tank. I've never enchanted a suit of armour specifically for a follower before but I will this time; lots of fortify health, one handed- stuff that works well for a follower. Haven't thought about it much. Might post suggestions later because equipping a follower is obviously a bit different to equipping yourself

Thanks for the ideas!

Nice. Is that slow time? I've never used i before but seems effective. Not sure why it would be better than unrelenting force though, both give you a change to get in some damage but UF has a better recharge time

I enjoyed the deaths, reminds me of my attempts last time :)

It's the UF shout that bothers me more!

Unless... can an arrow hitting a shield still paralyze?

Poisons are a big part of the plan! Weakness to frost mostly, but if I'm not getting anywhere slow and paralyze potions are options. I'm hoping fortify one handed potions can bring my damage up to 1000+, with extra frost damage and the mace bypassing armour

No, paralysis does not work against shields. However the window you have of blocking an arrow is slight. What's even worse is that he can still use his Ultimate Health Potions even while paralyzed or flying in mid-air! :0

How do you backstab a Dragon?
I always wonder - Why bother? Nothing you get off of him is worth the effort of getting rid of him. Plus he's a demented Redguard that actually thinks he'll go to Sovngard. He's a fool. All he does is hang out on a a mountain slope hoping that you'll come and end his misery.

Let him be miserable, I say. Unless I want a clean quest inventory, what's the point.

I'm not proving anything and it's for his benefit? I don't think I've ever created a character that gives a damn.

Yes, I recommend having Odahviing around. I also highly recommend having Kaarstag (or something like that anyway), the frost giant that you can summon. That thing is a freaking beast.

Kaarstag yes. Odahving? FUK no! There is a ever prevalent glitch that if you call him, TEW will make him "die" and Odahving will just sit their and your call will not work! Don't do it! @-@

Did a Breton not once go to the far shores (Redguadd afterlife)? Does anyone ever state (who is a reliable source) that only Nords may go to Sovngard? Also, wouldent you say that wanting an honourable death is rather Nord-like? Don't take this wrongly, i'm actually rather curious. Has anyone ever kiled the EW before going to Sovngarde?

Yes. Many times (about 7). I just hate that dude and I have never seen him in Sovngarde. Ever.

We know absolutely nothing about his background. Given his behaviour, it strikes me as that there is NOTHING honorable about him or his death, so he doesn't deserve Sovngarde. As racist and xenophobic as the Nords are, why would they let anyone else in?

Because he's 8 feet tall. Probably would arm-wrestle Tsun for entry to the Hall of Valor.
He says that he has "done all that can be done. There is nothing left. No quests to be undertaken. No villians to be slain. No challenges to face". Seems like a solid summary of his life. He has the epic gear to back this statement too. All he wants is an honourable death from the (presumably at this point) Dovahkiin, the most honoured being to walk the plains of Skyrim. Not even Ulfric Stormcloak asked for anything more.

Still don't like the guy and certainly don't trust him. Anybody can claim to be "slaying villains", but who or what were villains to him? For all we know, he may consider Danica Clearspring a villain (although, probably not, since he didn't kill her).

He just honks me off. I never give him an honorable death. I backstab and poison him and then steal all stuff and leave him laying naked in the snow for the animals to eat. Of course, since I also always take his soul as well and use it for something stupid, he ain't going nowhere, except to the Soul Cairn where he can rot for eternity for all I care. :)

Ah, but do you see him in the Soul Cairn?

No. So where did he go? Not the Soul Cairn and definitely not Sovngaard, so where? Or maybe he didn't go anywhere since I used his soul gem to recharge my hotplate at Breezehome so Lydia could heat up her Ramen. :)

A thought; how great would it be if you could defeat him and take him as a follower?

I don't care about any of his gear, but he's the ultimate challenge for a maxed out warrior character and it irks me knowing I'm not the number one fighter in Skyrim while he's still out there. Realistically even if I beat him without sneaking or abusing glitches but had outside help like conjured beings and a follower he is still the toughest fighter in Skyrim because I had help. That pains me. I want that crown for myself so this time I'm optimising a build to be better prepared for him so if he beats me again at least I can know I gave it my best shot this time :Dovahkiin:

what about amulet of talos + blessing of talos + stability + fortify alteration potions at ~100% + slow time? ;)

Why? Then there wouldn't be a fight. There's nothing honorable about that. :)

Does that give you infinite shout use, or just Slow time?
