Okay so usually I spam the heal spell with my characters whether they're magically oriented or not. My current character is not using any magic other than Dragon Shouts and scrolls he comes across. So I have to depend on my stock of healing potions, the strength of my armor and stealth mode. Another thing I usually do is have a follower at all times. I'm going to try it solo this time, and if I really actually need some help I'll recruit a mercenary.
Anyone else trying something different from what they normally do?

Yeah making my char become a vamp for first time, got to get the perks right then BOOM! bring it on, also prepped to counter the effects of "Weakness to Sunlight" gonna need to do some tests though.

Wanna try something different try this.

Talk to everyone after leaving helgen and do as they say,
But if the next person you talk to has a different quest follow there's,
And so on, I left helgen Ralof said I join the storm cloaks, followed the marker but sven asked me about camilla, then I ran into faendal and then I ended up on the way to whiterun to speak to the jarl, but now I'm trying to find a mammoth tusk, ,,, , does your head in but a bit of fun,

Depends what your definition of different is. On RP games I've never made a purely evil character. But on Skyrim as of last night I made my first, a female Imperial Necromancer. Considering making her a VL too when I get some Fire Resist enchantments. If you're wondering why Imperial for the race, well one because I hadn't made one yet. And two because during my experimentation with different character builds I've discovered I like making characters with builds opposite to their race. So say a Bosmer is supposed to be a sneak archer - I made mine a battlemage with a sneak twist. Say an Imperial is meant to be sword and board - I made her a Necromancer. Seems to only be with mage types however, because I love my Nord Shieldmaiden and Orc two handed warrior. Go figure. :D

Yeah, you could run with that for quite a while. Probably end up exploring most of Skyrim pretty early on too. What I like to do is start with quests close to where I am and branch out from there. I make some long trips but I try to do my quests in geographic sequence usually.

I once made a mage character who was terrified of people after spending most of her life as a vampires thrall, so she wouldn't do any quests which started by talking to NPCs apart from one to get the Jarl of Falkreath to give me Lakeview Manor and she wouldn't go into any towns (apart from Falkreath to get Lakeview Manor and Lumbar).

It was such fun. She couldn't sell or buy anything to get items to build her house so she had to find them in the wild. She couldn't sell random loot so she had to find money to buy Lakeview Manor from chests and bodies. Before she build a home she had to drag her enchanting, alchemy and smithing ingredients around until she found a dungeon with crafting abilities. Her primary reason for clearing dungeons was hunger as she kept running out of food. And when your only source of spells is random loot staffs become a major part of your playstyle. I did use the Live Another Life mod with the necromancer start which puts you in Sinderion's Field Lab though. It lets you start with two Conjuration spells, which is a help in the beginning.

Intriguing way to play the game Wildroses, never thought of applying reasoning for the things my guy does in Skyrim haha, not that he doesn't have a personality the poor fella, but I don't get so deep like other people here, some people really abide by their own story!

Which is very cool! Maybe I could give him some backstory, inspiring.

What you are trying is pretty much my main go-to for a character. So for me, something different would be pure mage, which I haven't tried yet. I DID have one Redguard who was almost pure but she wore armour.

Yeah making my char become a vamp for first time, got to get the perks right then BOOM! bring it on, also prepped to counter the effects of "Weakness to Sunlight" gonna need to do some tests though.
I tried the vamp thing...once... do..not..like..

I've usually played one handed with archery as back up but this time, I'm going archery only. This means I focus on my sneak skill over my armour skill. It was kind of tricky at first but it got much easier. She's also the first 'bad' character I've played. Well, I suppose she's not evil but she doesn't have much of a conscience :)

How do you backstab a Dragon?
I like your build BTW. As to different, I'm working on my Orc moron Urug Hai.

So far, he's made it to level 23 - no magic, no alchemy, no collecting anything and just doing what he's told.

Normally my characters end up to be enchanted item, spellswords with very high level magic, one-handed and light armor as well as enchanting, smithing and alchemy.

This time, Urug still has less than 5K septims (he doesn't collect anything and only uses found items). Two-handed and heavy. Right at the moment he's using a Steel War-hammer of burning and a found combo of steel, orcish and, surprisingly at his level a pair of ebony gauntlets and boots.

It's been fun, although challenging getting past my greed!

This is what I like to do when things start getting monotonous.

Once I start a quest I head to one of my houses and dump EVERYTHING in that house and head towards the quest on foot. My character at that point isn't wearing anything, and is unarmed. If I encounter bandits for example I have to figure out how to dispatch one and use whatever they have equipped to take care of the others. Depending on the encounters you can end up fairly prepared when you reach the quest location It is a fun challenge and change of pace, having to think on the fly and start with a huge disadvantage.
