The Countless Violet Clouds
Apologies if this is in the wrong area.
I just need some advice on a good desktop pc for Skryim with mods. No I don't want to build one from scratch, I'm on a bit of a time table.

Up till now I was on the PS3, but I've been hankering for a modded Skyrim and my laptop(which did everything in daily life I needed but was never up to the task of gaming) has decided to give me some grief(not the first time) and I've reached the point where I'm tired of getting it fixed and would just like to replace it with something more substantial. And yes, this will be my first dedicated gaming pc.

I'd like to get one that is capable of Skyrim with mods(potentially on a full-size tv screen) ideally has a blu-ray player, can handle some minor online gaming(Smite/LOL, etc), and not break the bank over it. I suppose a max budget of $1100, but again I'm poor, so I'd like to keep it lower.

Go on Newegg for good parts. I like EVGA for graphics cards, and I bought a drive that does DVD, CD, and Blu-Ray playing and burning - all in one. I also recommend a liquid cooling system. I don't know much about computer parts, but my processor is an AMD 6 core, though I recommend getting an 8 core, since games are starting to require those. The better your processor is, the more mods you can have. But if you can't afford that, get a 6 core, if not quad. That will still play Skyrim. And for graphics cards, I recommend a GTX 970 or 980, at least 4 gigs. If you can't afford a card in the 900 series, you can still play with one in the 700 series, but you'd have to upgrade soon. The better your graphics card is, the less lag you'll get. Get whatever size of a hard drive you want, but I'd recommend you get a hybrid drive. Space of a hard disk drive (HDD) and the speed of a solid state drive (SSD). I made a mistake getting an HDD because my Skyrim takes forever to load, and I actually need my tablet by my side while I play Skyrim because I'm an impatient gamer. for RAM, you should get 8 gigs.
