I discovered that if you pickpocket a guy who sells stuff, you can steal his goods without buying them..

Just a quick one about the background effects,
When at Saarthal there is a valley opposite with high sided ice walls, (sometimes a random event happens), if you go into the valley and just stand you can hear the ice moving, and if you cast a spell like flesh armour the spell noise will echoe.

This is probably an old one, but I was hunting giants the other day, and I just so happened to run into a pond that was hip deep. The giant just stood there and took some arrows before running off to whack my follower. Evidently, giants don't like any bodies of water that go up past their ankles :D

This only happens at the start of a new game.

After you leave Helgen, bang a right. Go back up and around Helgen to the road leading to the Alchemist's Shack.
There will be a ransacked caravan w/ dead Khajiit. You will be attacked by at least 4 bandits.
The funny thing is, once that "cell" respawns, the Khajiit and caravan clean up, but there will be three bandits "sitting" on a rock (one standing opposite) up from the road.
They won't attack unless provoked.

PS: It's alao a great way to start a RP as a caravan bodygaurd.

Once when I bought Serana home to her Father, I was thinking my idiot vampire hunting character was probably looking at the bodies on the tables being fed on by vampires and having second thoughts as to the wisdom of taking a vampire home to her vampire filled lair so she stayed on the balcony and watch the reunion from there. I thought Harkon would walk up to me when he got to the point where he wanted to talk to me, but instead he said in this level tone: "I am not known for my patience." Needless to say, I was off that balcony and in the centre of that hall with Harkon quicker than you can say Fus Ro Dah. Next time I tried to make him say that again, but he chose something different and outright threatened me, along the lines of: "It is only for Serana's sake you aren't already dead. Now get down here." So I always lurk on that balcony now to see what he'll say to get me down this time.

I recently discovered that when you go to beg the Jarl's aid for Riverwood after the destruction of Helgen it is possible to avoid Irileth, talk to the Jarl directly and have a completely different initial conversation with him. Surprised the hell out of me when I discovered that as I'd been playing Skyrim two years.

Something I discovered today, and I think I might be a little slow on this, I'm making a destruction armoured mage, but in the early levels instead of casting the same spell in both hands I cast two different ones such as flames and frost at the same time, and to be honest it seems the foes go down seriously quickly, my only summation is I'm doing 4 lots of damage at the same time, or is it me ?.

You know, I'd always wondered if Skyrim elemental damage worked similar to Borderlands. Funny I've never actually tried testing the theory out... I think I'm going to get on that.

Couple things I discovered within the month: There are salmon jumping up stream in the river by Honningbrew... What? I never noticed that before!

There is an "avalanche" event that occurs up one of the mountains. (Don't remember where.) ....Saddest avalanche ever, but it's there.

Here's one I just discovered: I was running past an area where there was a Wispmother with Muffle cast. She was none the wiser. Decent thing to know when you're not able to survive a single Ice Spike, let alone three.

This is something I discovered this week,
With an unarmed build (fists) the perks in the one-handed tree of dual flurry and dual savagery affect and give a higher dps and bonuses to your fists, your hits are quicker and you benefit from the 50% bonus for power attacks.

Elemental fury doesn't affect fists only weapons.

How do you backstab a Dragon?
I had no idea Dwarven automatons were immune to frost magic. I now it's dumb, but this is the first time I've used frost magic extensively.

On another note: has anyone noticed that Eastmarch is absolutely infested with vampires? I couldn't believe that I killed 29 of them on one run up to Druadach Redoubt! Sheesh.

I believe Dwarven automatons are resistant to all magic types, not just Frost, though I could be wrong. I tend to have an easier time killing them with Fire or Lightning spells, so perhaps you're right - though I use Frost spells so rarely I'm not sure. Never used them on automatons, I mostly use them on bandits/warrior types to slow them down and drain their stamina. :)

How to have decent melee ability without any investment in perks or leveling warrior skills. Go khajiit and become a vampire lord or werewolf as soon as possible, so once the claw damage becomes ineffective you can transform! Sounds obvious but it's convenient for those assassin builds that rely heavily on sneak and can't deal with wild encounters well

Animal allegiance can be a fun shout. Convenient for falmer caves; turn the charus against the falmer and let them weaken each other. Or when you can't be bothered drawing a weapon to kill wolves in the wild just use AA and keep running

Changed health regen to 0 on my non-magical warrior using the console.

Discovered that health potions are precious and far too uncommon. Finding them in forts or dungeons elicits more glee than finding treasure now.

Why did you change the health regen to zero? A lot of games do that already. To me it doesn't make sense. After I get injured in real life, I am not, forever more injured. I do recover eventually, albeit slowly. I don't need to quaff some potion or visit some healer.

I'm surprised you find them so uncommon. I end up with hundreds since I don't really use them, even on my non-magical characters. I just avoid being hit. :)
