How do you backstab a Dragon?
So I recently adopted a stray dog and he sits up in my bedroom in Breezehome, and every time I arrive home, I hear his cheerful bark, followed by Lydia spouting "Stupid dog". Look, Bitch. You could learn a thing or two from my pet about how to respect your master. :Dovahkiin:
Ouch! "Master"! Seems like the criminal from Helgen has developed a real attitude since finding out they can shout things off of cliffs, eh?
Not our fault there is a very obvious hierarchy in skyrim. Dragonborn>Ebony warrior>Companions>Dragons>Giants>Thalmor>Various Daedric Princes>Ulfric>Forsworn>Everyone else
You forgot Chickens. The must, and I cannot stress this more strongly! The MUST! Be at the top of the power list. Far beyond even the Daedric/Aedric entities, Jarls, Kings, Archmages, Harbingers, Guild Masters or the Dragonborn.

They are the only being in Skyrim that will, quite literally, bring down the Wrath of EVERYBODY! on you if you should happen to be responsible for their demise. Oddly, only you. Everybody else is exempt. Apparently, they are your true nemesis in Skyrim. :)

Literally the first thing that came to mind as I read this was "Stupid dog." "That's a goat. "SILENCE!"

Too much gamer poop :D

Yes, the chickens belong on the list.......just above everyone else, but still below the forsworn. While they may bring the wrath of everyone, you can kill everyone AND the chicken. It is still beneath you, and anyone who can hold their own.

What a wonderful derailment!

Something I learned: I'm not entirely sure how this occured, but I can take anything in the Arch-Mage's Quarters without penalty before becoming Arch-Mage. I've wondered if it's tied into having completed the questline on another character and it transfers over... or maybe everything can always be taken; free of charge!

I'd taken to stealing the samples from the plants in the quarters for some time without sneaking. It wasn't until my curiosity got the better of me, did I try taking something else. It's all very strange...

Mine is rather embarassing....I played for quite a long time before I knew there was a sprint option. And found it by accident.

^ You were about to rage quit, but as the controller left your hand you began sprinting. Intrigued, you bought a new television and tested again with similar results-- save for the loss of picture display.

Something I discovered just yesterday: When in a dialogue with someone, i.e. when activating the trade function, you can press Start in the middle of their reply. Once you exit the start menu the inventory screen pops right up instantaneously. Useful for when you're trying to make use of a barter potion/various other task/mood where you want to save time. Sadly, it doesn't seem to work for Daedra dialogue (specifically Molag Bal), although, I haven't tried it on the Augur.

^ Note: You'll need to press x/a twice. Once to input the selection and a second time to "lock" it in. Pressing Start skips all the seconds waiting for their dialogue scripting to end. This even works for dialogue beyond trading screens.

No, I'm not terribly impatient. It was an accident... But, now I can be impatient and have a mode of recourse.

I discovered that after you become the harbinger for the companions that vilkas and farkas and other male companions may shrink slightly in size.

You sure it's not a glitch? I've never had that happen to me and I've done the companions questline dozens of times. o_O

I just discovered last night while watching a Skyrim LP on YouTube that you can actually run into Alduin waking up other dragons if done at the right time. For example, if you pass by the dragon mound near Rorikstead before starting the Elder Knowledge quest, you can see Alduin waking up - I think his name was Nahlokiiv or something similar. I've finished the main quest only once granted but I had no idea until now. Going to try and visit all the dragon mounds on my other characters now. :)

I attribute credit to RedNek for a will to save Roggvir.

After some time I was able to keep Roggvir alive... technically... Well, let me put it this way: Keeping Roggvir alive is kind of like trying to stop a fish from drowning. I'll explain.

I positioned myself in equal distance, as best I could, to everyone at the execution and cast Harmony. To then stop Roggvir from dying as a result of collateral damage, I cast Courage on him. Then following this, I cast Fury on the Captain (as to not incur a bounty). At this point, Roggvir will break his binds and attack the Captain. To stop any unnecessary bloodshed, cast Calm on the Captain and then wait.

Eventually all the scripted lines will be voiced, and spectators will make their departure, save for the Captain and the headsmen, Ahtar. A little while longer the Captain will leave, meanwhile the headsmen will look over his sword, or work the grindwheel. This is where it gets tricky. If you let Courage elapse, Roggvir will just fall to the ground dead, as if the life were sucked out of him. To prevent this, use a healing spell like Heal Other on him. The catch is, you'll have to run after him around Solitude because he is perpetually scared-- of something... I don't know what. So, I'm sure you get the picture. Running around the capital with my good friend Roggvir... until he makes a sudden move and dies on the spot.

Edit: Here's something totally unrelated:

You can run around in third-person with a two-hander in one hand. To do so:

1. In 1st person dual-wield w/ weapons ready.
2. Go into your inventoy and select a two-handed weapon (I want to see if this works for bows now...)
3. As you are taking your weapon out, begin moving forward.
4. Before your weapon in on screen, click for 3rd person.

Now as long as you continue to run around in 3rd person, the weapon should remain in one hand... Totally cosmetic obviously.

Mysterious Dialogue between Eola and Ria, basically just came back from Dragon Hunting with Vilkas a few days ago, then Eola got dismissed when I tried to "Follow me" Vilkas.

When Eola was dismissed she was standing right by a sitting Ria.

Then Eola said to Ria something like "Let me know when you find a real man around here"

Then I went first person or something, to get a closer look, and Eola looked at my Male Orc and said "Oh don't look so upset"

Both Ria and Eola were laughing (alot) after that remark - at this point I was amused but also really intregued because, the Dialogue wasn't coming up as Subtitled, the screen just displayed:

Eola:
Ria:

So I'm guessing its some hidden dialogue that just activated on a whim, tried to recreate the scenario by loading the just finished dragon hunting save, where I then Travel to Jorrvaskr, but I can't get Eola to converse with Ria at all even when dismissing her...

So odd but also a cool discovery.

I believe that is in accordance to this:

(Taken from UESPWiki talk section regarding convo's with Vilkas)

When walking around Solitude, Vilkas got into a special dialogue with a lady, i think it was the one from bits and pieces but i'm not sure. Quite funny. — Unsigned comment by 93.103.187.78 (talk) at 03:59 on 25 July 2012

Do you remember what was said, or at least the gist of it? Vely►t►e 16:25, 25 July 2012 (UTC)
Special dialogue hmm? Well I don't think it's a new dialogue. Most probably one of the rarer generic dialogues. I know of one special conversation that can happen with any two ladies and one man. It's funny too, and could be the one you're referring to. It goes something like this:
Lady #1: "Hello."
Lady #2: "Oh, hi, I'm glad I ran into you. I was wondering if..." (Man interrupts)
Man: "Hello, ladies! Is there anything a big strong man can do for you this fine day?"
Lady #1: "I don't know. If you see any big strong men around, let us know, will you?"
Both ladies: *Laughs*
Man: "Harpies, every one of them." (walks away from them)
Lady #1: "Oh, come now. Don't go away mad."

I found out that if you give Ralis from the Dragonborn DLC dragonscale armor and two dragonbone swords, your enemies will be in a LOT of pain.

That little Dunmer is a whirlwind! Cuts through everyone! Best follower, doesn't get in my way much either. He's also a damn good archer too! Especially if you give him a Dragonbone bow and some dragonbone arrows... Man that guy can kill.

I also found out a long while ago that the glitch with the quest to clear the 'focus points' at the College is still in effect as of patch 1.9 official skyrim patch. I hate grinding magic schools because I'm impatient so this helps a lot.

Nice find! Yeah thats the one haha.

Definately Rare though, I've had Eola around for ages, pretty much caught my attention lol.

Yeah, I've played skyrim for quiet a while (we all have...) and I've only encountered that rare dialogue twice. So yeah... Really rare. Still glad they put that in though, funny convo.

And hell froze over today!

For Nazeem, in all his glory, was nice. Yes! That's right, nice! Or at least concerned, played nurse? I don't know...

When I was trying to get vampirism and waiting it out, he came up to me and said, "You look very sickly, shouldn't you be in bed resting?"

Aw... Who knew that snobbish ass had a heart after all?

Still gonna kick his ass though for that earlier comment... Cloud District my butt.

This was definitely a glitch so I wouldn't really call it a discovery, but one day I wanted to reunite with my Blade companions and go dragon hunting for the first time in a while, so I went to Esbern, made him find a dragon, blah blah. I got the dragon nest, and for no reason at all I wanted to know what happens if I use Bend Will on a dragon while the Blades are there. So I did, and they stopped; kind of expected really, but then I got off of it, I used Dragonrend, let it land and just decided to kill it as I was intended to in the beginning, so I started attacking it until it was supposed to die, but to my amazement, after it's health reached zero, the health bar disappeared and it wouldn't die, I would keep attacking it but it just stayed alive. I remembered that that same day I thought I should raise the level of some of my other lower-level skills to help me level up, so I got a greatsword and started slashing that dragon up; throw in a bit of Elemental Fury and you got the most amazing grinding glitch ever. I started out with a two-handed level of about 35 and ended up in 80. This wasn't the first time that I've had a dragon become immortal but the first one was with one of the non-aggressive dragons on that ruin before reaching Sovngarde, so I couldn't reach it with normal means, and I was almost out of arrows so I didn't grind then.

^ I can offer you a tip for grinding in a similar fashion. Came across this by accident:

You can crouch and exploit the crap out of the Torturer in Helgen on your first pass if you have the intent. There's a little wisp of shadow in front of where he stands, so it's quite easy to sneak critical him. Since he behaves like a friendly, he won't attack until after four consecutive hits. Granted you are using Iron quality weapons, the leveling process will take awhile. Sneak seems to benefit most from this.

Note: To start out, you'll need to run at him to make him stagger and walk in the direction you need. Once he's far enough away you can wait for him to walk back to his "waiting" position, and attack him as his back is turned. The cage door can be helpful in achieving this. If closed, it can then be used to push him farther away more quickly than running into him... At around 40 Sneak you can truly take advantage of the shadow.

...This same "technique" can be used on Hadvar when you've entered Helgen Keep. Just bloody well hack and slash him to your little heart's content. I have a hard save of him stuck in the corner-- like, literally stuck, right by the pull chain before the two first Stormcloaks... So, if I ever wanted to... Haha... 100 One-Handed and Two-Handed before I even leave Helgen! Hooray!

I'd imagine you can beat up on Ralof as well; though, I've never tried it.

I had something else relevant to say, but haven't the faintest clue what it was...
