Bipolar Dragonborn
Greetings, fellow Skyrimers. Going through my fourth Skyrim run, basically discovering most major plot developments, including the DLC's, I couldn't help but feel like the game was missing a few minor details, plot-wise mainly, that could've enriched the game even more. So I just wanted to ask everybody if there is any plot development that you felt the game needed? My main one would be that when siding with the Stormcloaks and taking over Solitude, I feel that the army should've taken one last battle to the Aldmeri Dominion and truly take back Skyrim. It wouldn't have to happen immediately, I mean technically the Stormcloak army would need time to recover from the casualties, the courier could always look for you, but even then again, a level 40+ Dragonborn could probably take on the entirety of them on his/her own; nothing a bit of Storm Call couldn't fix. The Imperial side could've have something similar as well, maybe a new High King being appointed, heck, why not have the Dragonborn be appointed High King? But I digress. Leave your thoughts please, can't wait to hear them!

Plot wise, I agree there could of been a bit added. I feel like you never seem to get the recognition you deserve for killing a deity who would of destroyed civilization. I also feel like there could have been some better character development, some more people like Serana who had a lot of background and personality to them. The civil war had a lot of stuff omitted, apparantly there was deleted scene where Galmar executes Ondolemar, and there are sieges of Riften and Markarth. As a Stormcloak, I would loved a quest where you lay waste to the embassy. There's also no real reason for the moot not to be held, you being an honourary guest (being Dovahkiin and all) in either Windhelm or Solitude, with all the Jarls and seeing Elisif or Ulfric crowned, that would've been a nice little epilogue sort of thing.

Ah yes, the character development is pretty weak in Skyrim. I mean I don't know, if I knew a certain individual saved us from certain doom and defeated a nearly god like being, not to mention the first Dragonborn, a vampire overlord, and a few other threats, like the deal with Potema, I would name that guy the Tenth Divine. As far as the Embassy, I have personally tried to raid that damn place by myself but as far as I know there isn't a way in besides that one time. I guess Delphine wasn't kidding when she that place is locked up tight. Oh well, I'm still due to go there in my current playthrough so I'll make sure to get everyone. And Serana, oh my gosh, you should've seen my disappointment when I found out you couldn't marry her, haha, she just stands out over the rest of characters in Skyrim, even when you actually marry someone they're dialog is just so generic, even for a lover, and kind of annoying sometimes.

Yeah remember in Oblivion you got your own statue and all the NPCs wouldn't shut up about how "the great Oblivion Crisis is over!". In Skyrim, you get a bard song that turns out isn't even about you. I had a really hard time getting back into the embassy but you can do it if you summon Arvak on the other side of the fence and than mount him. I'll never forget how happy I was when that worked, and I could finally kill Elenwen. My friend told me one time he thralled her and took her back to Windhelm for execution lol. I know, it sucks you can't marry the one person with a bit of a personality.

I'm sure if you take it back to Morrowind and Daggerfall you can find some sort of rewarding to the hero as well. Maybe SKyrim is trying to teach us how to be humble, who knows? And oh man, gonna try that next time I play!

Time for some ale
Yes, the (lack of) recognition is, to me, the grandest disappointment. People should everywhere be awed by the Dragonborn at some point in the quest, eventually culminating in worshippers and free riders looking to join you.

I think that drinking bottles of mead or ale during a battle should offer a small "berserk style" bonus to melee, that would last the same duration as the stamina penalty.

*Speaking of the Embassy..* A funny thing happened the last time I did the Thalmor Embassy quest. I wanted to see what would happen if I just didn't give anything to the guy in The Winking Skeever. Yeah... you really should give him some gear; I had to go in with NOTHING. I'd forgotten that Delphine takes everything off of you before you can even go to the embassy, but I was determined to make it work. The first couple attempts led to my quick demise. So the third time, I waited around the courtyard for awhile before showing my invitation, trying to decide what my next move would be. I got my answer in the form of Eola, who must've been sprinting after the carriage and finally made it to me. I borrowed Eola's Blackblade, a powerfully enchanted Dragonbone sword, and walked on in! It was time to repay the slaughter. :beermug:
