Should vampirism have been given more advantages?

I really think there should have been a fortify unarmed vampire strength thing where the melee weapon damage is increased also. Also I thing something should have happened to increase the effectiveness of raised undead and destruction spells as well as sneak and illusion.

I never bothered with vampirism due to the daytime disadvantages (since I tend to wander during the day and sleep at night). That being said, I always thought there should have been a lesser power which would speed up reaction time for the player (essentially slowing down the world) for at least a couple seconds.

More advantages? If you're a high level Vampire Lord, there is nothing, including Dragons that can stand against you IMO.

I think it's pretty balanced, although I think they got it in reverse when it comes to feeding. Why would you be weaker after you feed and stronger if you don't? What?

Of course that's pretty much the reason I never, ever feed as a vampire. It's just easier to use items and potions to offset the disadvantages.

I'm helping. Mostly.
It's important to know that at the very start, vampirism is a disease and that it needs to be more of a trade than an imbuement in power.

The reverse progression is simply a slider that gets you to be closer, or farther in compatibility and resemblance to normal people.

Lastly... I suppose it's already great enough that the sun doesn't threaten to turn you to ashes in one second.

If anything, the disadvantages from Vampirisim needed to be up-played. In Oblivion, exposure to sunlight could eventually kill you. In Skyrim it's a minor stat inconvenience.

Vampires in Skyrim have more going for them than against them.

I never felt like "a lion among sheep" as a vampire, so I agree in some respects vampirism should make you more powerful. However, I've never gotten to a high level as a vampire lord, so that may be more like what Harkon was describing.

Yup. At high level you're pretty much unstoppable (unless, of course you feed, then you're just a vampire IMO). It's kind of fun being a vamp over level 100, although after level 45 there really isn't more progression other than your usual.

Now when you're a Werewolf, you are a "lion" or wolf in this case, among sheep from almost the very start. As long as you take advantage of your first couple of encounters and get a couple of perks, you're just a monster! :)

Actually, a vampire with the Necromage perk gets certain bonuses to certain perks in other trees. For example, the Fists of Steel (unarmed) perk gets a 25% bonus. You also get certain bonuses in the One Handed, Archery, Light Armor and Pickpocket perk trees, according to the notes about vampirism on UESP. Granted it isn't across the board, it's only to certain ones, but still. Here is a link detailing this: http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:Vampirism#Embrace_of_Shadows.

I would imagine that goes for either Vampire Lords or regular vampires as well. So actually if done a certain way, vampires are already pretty damned powerful. The above doesn't even count the various bonuses to Sneak and Illusion, or the various powers and abilities the Vampire Lord receives when fully perked. So basically, with a bit of work and attention to detail, you can have an awesomely powerful vampire. Unfortunately though, they aren't really naturally powerful straight out of the box. Just how it works. :/ I do believe a Necromage vampire also gets bonuses to Conjuration - or I may be thinking of the Vampire Lord perk tree. There's something I can't quite remember off the top of my head that makes VL's natural necromancers. As far as a bonus to Destruction for them, no I don't think they have one. I agree with you there, vampires should definitely have gotten a bonus to Destruction. Seems fitting.
But all in all, no, I don't think they should've gotten more advantages. I think they have enough already. Werewolves on the other hand.. Well, don't get me started on all that. lol :)

Actually I want to hear your opinion on werewolves

I like how vicious the werewolves are. I've never gotten to a very high level with one though, so I can't say how effective they are. Gameplay wise, I hate how long you have to wait to shift back. With the vampire lord you can shift at will. Lore wise, I don't really feel like a monster that loses control. I'm just fighting with a different appearance than normal... It's like you're a silly Twilight werewolf rather than the real thing.

Ye i agree, there should be bonus in unarmed dmg and one handed, vampires are stronger than humans right? Also "super speed" thing, run faster than normal human, sprint too... would be so cool. And fluff, man, why are ppl saying u are pale WHEN U ARE FAKING NOT, that rly needs a fix.

Here's For Your Trouble
There are vampire lord perks that give a bonus to unarmed combat, can't remember if they work outside of vampire form though.

I think the best way to play a vampire build is a sneaky dagger/archer type using illusion magic and restoration (for offsetting sun effects). The good thing is your trouble dealing with dragons with this type of character is offset by the ability to go vampire lord for those fights

I can see how vampirism would be a bit underwhelming for a warrior

Can I get a hangover potion please? I mean a cure hangover potion, not a cause hangover potion. I've got the cause potion already!

Seriously though... In just about all the vampire movies, (I haven't seen the 'Twilight' movies, don't plan to), the vampire is able to pick a guy up, and hurl him across the room. I want to be able to do that, independent of unrelenting force. They also have hypnotic powers. Do they have this in the game? I don't know because I didn't really give vampirism a chance.

On a side note, I like the original 'Fright Night.'

You can do the toss a guy across the room thing. Vampiric Grip.

I seriously think that Vampires are supposed to be a bad deal, deadly powers at a deadly price.

I think more should be done so people can enjoy playing as a vampire character, and not have many drawbacks as you do need to feed to survive and stay young. I enjoy playing as a vampire lord and can change appearances at will when at higher level which is interesting to see and are quite strong. There should be more benefits and advantages which give you more rewards playing as a vampire character.
