Apologies if this is the wrong place to post this, but some serious advice would be well and truly appreciated.

I recently purchased a new laptop, and it runs vanilla Skyrim like a dream. The next step was to replicate the modding process that I used on my previous PC. Evidently, I did it wrong. The game crashes right after the Bethesda logo, just after a brief glimpse of the dragon symbol. This is apparently an infamous CTD caused by some mod issue. The problem is, I don't know which one.

LOOT calculated my load order as follows:

Update.esm
Unofficial Skyrim Patch.esp
Dawnguard.esm

ygrittefollower.esp (This one should NOT be there. I'm thinking that this is causing the issue. I used this mod on my previous laptop, and for some reason, the plugin carried over when I re-downloaded Skyrim on this laptop despite deactivating/uninstalling all mods and plugins on my previous laptop. I unchecked it in NMM under the plugins tab yet it still is appearing in my plugin sort on LOOT)

I now have a couple of (possibly dumb) questions:
1. Are the number of plugins I have supposed to be incongruent to the number of mods I have installed on NMM? I have 47 active plugins and 55+ mods installed. For example, I have Tamriel Reloaded - Textures and Parallax installed, but I don't see it anywhere on the plugin list.
2. Is there anything I should be doing differently?

Please note that I do not have the technical capabilities or knowledge to "clean" the aforementioned dirty plugins. I am easily confused by the "language" of computers and modding in general and prefer to make it as simple of a process as possible. Two of these dirty plugins actually called for them not to be cleaned at all whatsoever.

TL;DR: Help. Please. Dx

When in doubt, follow the fox.
Edit: I feexed it.

A while ago, actually. You people can move along now.
I would actually like to know what you did since I'm experiencing the same thing. My mod load order is correct, I've cleared the config files, and I have verified the game cache. And of course I rebooted. Still crashes on startup. I'm out of ideas.

What mods are you running, if you don't mind me asking? I know some of the common discrepancies. For me, the problem was caused by installing the wrong patch for one of them.

Actually I found the culprit by unchecking all my mods in NMM then re-adding them a few at a time until I couldn't log in. The bad one was Bluecreek Estate. I like getting modded houses that I have to buy, because I don't have enough uses for all my cash. That one cost me over $56k. I may re-download it to see if it was just a corrupt file or something.

I don't have a lot of mods. I mod my vanilla homes, buy a few estates, I like the Murderwrath/MannyGT series, Falskaar, Wyrmstooth, Daedric light armor, left hand rings, and the Kajhiit child Ma'isha. Most of the mods I have have thousands of downloads and have been crafted with attention to detail so it was weird that I had a problem.
