The Dragonborn fell in combat and so for four years the land of Skyrim has been plagued by dragons with no hope of an end. No more Dragonborn have been discovered. Other threats both supernatural and otherwise taken to preying on the weak to get by. Despite the hardships, the Civil War still rages harder than ever and the Thalmor still pull the strings.

By coincidence or fate, the people who are destined to save the world (Or at least have a heck of an adventure trying) will meet each other in Winterhold. That's where the adventure is destined to start.

If anyone would like to join go here: http://skyrimforum.com/sf/threads/this-frozen-waste.66181/

Currently we only have two people so hopefully someone else will join!

Leine rode into Winterhold on her horse. Quickly she dropped off her horse with the stable master and made her way into The Frozen Hearth. An unfamiliar bard was playing on his flute. He was tall, with brown hair. She couldn't tell for sure in the dim firelight but he looked like an Imperial.

She was stopping in Winterhold after killing a traveling Redguard minstrel. She would rest here for the night and then go to Windhelm, to look for work. Or maybe she'd look around here first. It was mostly desolate, but she wasn't one to miss out on a potential opportunity. The darkest people lived in the most secluded and non suspicious places after all.

She sat down at the bar and ordered an ale. After gulping it down she called over the Innkeeper and asked "How much for a room?"

    "Ten Septims ma'am"

Leine handed over the gold. "Thank you".

Selene walked into the freezing tavern. She was freezing. Luckily Winterhold was very far away from her old home.

The Frozen Hearth had apparently hired a new bard. He was an Imperial and he was currently playing the flute. She sat down at the bar and asked for a room, an ale and a roasted rabbit haunch. The meal was there quickly. Beside her was a rather suspicious looking dark elf.

Grundle hopped out from her robes and onto the counter his green/yellow eyes staring into Selene's emerald ones.

She turned to the innkeeper. "You got any work?"

A redheaded Nord woman came in and sat down next to Leine. The young woman payed for a room and food. Suddenly a cat jumped out of her robes and onto the counter. Leine knew that cats were extremely rare in Skyrim so this was a surprise.

The woman asked for work. Leine quietly shifted off to the darkest table in the inn. However she discreetly left a septim on the counter top as a tip to the innkeeper.

The innkeeper said that she had no work at the moment. The dark elf ( Who seemed to have a dark presence around her. Selene couldn't place her finger on it but something was wrong with her.) moved away from the bar leaving behind a gold piece. Just then a couple guards who must have been off their shift came in. The innkeeper rushed over to help them immediately. She didn't notice the gold coin.

As much as Selene hated stealing from an inn that hardly got any business she took the coin. She needed all the money she could get if she wanted to move on to the next town.

Leine smiled under cloak. Looks like the Nord girl didn't have too many morals. Neither did Leine. Maybe she could turn this girl. She would make a good partner.

The guards that had come in were being rude to the innkeeper, flirting and mocking her. One even began to stroke her arm. The innkeeper looked uncomfortable but made no move to stop them.

Leine fired a magelight into the face of the one that was groping her.

"What the-" Cried the guard. He tried to bat the light away but it stuck to his face like honey.

"Boys this a tavern, not a brothel." Leine said making her way towards them.

Both guards sprang up angrily, the one on the left looking comical with Leine's magelight circling his head.

Leine rushed toward the door and opened it, letting in a huge blast of wind and snow. "Leave and don't come back until you've learned some manners."

The left guard stopped angrily out the door, the light still circling. The right guard spat on the floor and sat back down on the stool.

"Now where were we?" He said turning to the innkeeper who had been standing there awkwardly the whole time.

Leine thought about letting it go, but quickly changed her mind. She came over to the guard's table and smacked it over spilling the ale he had just ordered onto his lap and floor.

Selene gaped as the scene played out in front of her. As the elf knocked over the table Selene came to her senses and marched over.

"Excuse me but what's going on here?" She asked. She knew what was going on of course.

Leine saw the Imperial girl walk up and ask what was going on. Leine ignored her, instead turning to the guard, who was now drawing his weapon. She slid her hood back revealing her red eyes. When she spoke she revealed her fangs.

"Perhaps you should go to the College and learn some spells before you face me. That blade won't do you any good." It was more scare tactic then anything. He would be able to harm with a lucky swing as much as he could with the right spell. "But it's not like your talented enough to handle a spell. Probably not good enough to handle a blade either, for that matter." She grinned wickedly, revealing her fangs before walking off to her table.

She could hear the guard make a bad dash for the door. Probably looked like a complete fool.

Andger walked in to the inn, not noticing the guard cursing at his spilled drink. Nobody asked if Andger wanted a drink, probably because he was almost 8ft tall and very grim looking. He saw the event unfolding before him and smiled,"This will be fun".

Andger had no problem with vampires, in fact one of the of Argonian mercenaries that raised him was a vampire. Not to mention that he was not a full nord, his great hight came from him being descended from half giants, so who was he to judge her. She even left a tip. Andger then noticed the tip on the counter gone,"Who would steal money" he thought, Andger looked at a nord woman with a cat near by,"You", he said talking to the red haired nord,"Put that semptim back, before I knock some sense into you."

Selene laughed. "Your certainly quick to accuse. I've done nothing wrong. You have no evidence." She wasn't sure how she hadn't noticed the man previously. " And you won't want to try anything with me. I'm not some wallflower who's going to take abuse."

She had to congratulate the man on realizing she had taken it, and she had no shame admitting it to him. She would've told him the truth, had they been in private. Luckily guardsmen weren't quick to arrest beautiful women.

Leine was more then a little surprised that she hadn't noticed the Nord. She wondered how long he'd been in the room. Luckily he either didn't care she was a vampire or hadn't noticed. Or he was waiting for a chance to strike.

When he accused the Nord girl of stealing she got up. From across the tavern she said "Don't worry my friend. Whether or not she stole it doesn't matter. Coin is easy to replace." She grabbed two coins out of her satchel. She tossed one to the innkeeper who seemed quite shocked at the night's events and one to the Nord.

Andger caught the coin, and grinned,"So, would you prefer going to the Dawnguard or The Vigilants of Stendarr.", he said, speaking to the dark elf, unsheathing his dagger. Andger stood at about 7ft tall taller than most people, and with scarred face and cold eyes he frightened most, but the vampire and thief stood their ground. "If they`re smart they'll run", he thought.

Leine laughed. "Your not all that different from most of Skyrim's Nords. Overconfident." She smirked. She was probably overconfident too, she supposed. Her eyes ran over his body. He was strong, but not someone she would fear. After all she had beaten plenty of people and beasts stronger than him.

"Let's see. The Vigilants might actually put up a fight which would be refreshing change, but at the same time, the Dawnguard wouldn't waste too much of my time. It would be nice to put them both down a few pegs. Maybe you can rally them all together for me. if it's not too much trouble of course." Her smile never wavered as she said this and her eyes never left his "Honestly sir, I would much prefer if we could just avoid this whole ordeal. I have no qualms with you, or anyone else here."

The Bard stood with his mouth agape and the innkeeper quietly snuck off to one of the rooms.

Selene smiled, grabbing her bola. She made no move toward the Nord. She just wanted to have it ready. If he made one move toward her he's be wrapped up in an instant.

When Andger saw the Nord draw her weapon, he instinctively drew his axe and lifted his spiked targe shield."Don`t try, you`d need an entire army," he said coldly."Even if you had an army who'd follow a coward like you"

"Coward? What have I done that proves me a coward? I'm on the defensive here. I tend to want to protect myself when I'm threatened."

"Well, my dear sir! Welcome to the land of the civilized. Much better than wherever you and the rest of the Nords were. Glad we can get along now."

Leine's voice was over the top and jolly. She patiently waited for the Nord to respond to her mocking words.
