I've made an Orc Dragon Slayer who specializes in 1 handed block heavy armor and archery and was wondering who would make a better spouse and follower for his travels? any thoughts ^.^ please give reasons to not just Aela cause she hotter or whatever lol

If you want someone more simple and easy going Ria seems like the better choice.

If you want someone who probably gets off on feeding on the corpses of her hunted enemies, probably Aela.

Interesting topic. Knowing what I now know, I'd choose Ria. I've used them both as followers, and to me they both seemed effective. I've married Aela, but not Ria, and while Aela is certainly the more attractive of the two, she drove me insane with her near constant, "Something has shifted in the moons, brother," remark. Again and again and again, she says this. Since she preferred our house in Solitude, I'd usually leave her there with the kids while I spent more time in Lakeview Manor, (where all the good parties happened in her absence).

When in doubt, follow the fox.
Ria has wonky eyes so I didn't marry her. Aela becomes annoying, because those moons are shifting so often you'll want to kill her for saying it one more time. I married Njada Stonearm and she was a kick because she's kind of verbally abusive in a loving way. I just wish I could get her to wear a dress.

Ria is sweet. She's kind of laid back and has almost an innocence about her. A young spirit, perhaps? She seems less abrasive. Maybe just what an Orc fresh from the fight needs to come home to?

Aela is prettier, I suppose. But she's really into the werewolf thing. It weirds me out a little, unless I'm playing a character who is also big on the beast blood. If your dragon slayer is cool with lycanthropy, marry her?

I should add that I never use either of them as followers. So I can't comment on their usefulness in battle.

Green skinned, pointy eared orc with tusks seeks human bride. Must have perfect eyes.

Personally, i think Njada Stonearm would be a better choice. She's braggish and the least pleasant of the female Companions, but then her personality is quite fitting for an orc-wife. Plus she gives blocking lessons, which you can claim money back from if she's following.

Unless your orc is so different from his own kind that he doesn't care for brutish types and wants someone more gentle and soothing. Then go for Ria.

What about an Orc wife eh?
My Orc still looking - atm hes raging at the fact Eola cant be wedded.

Think he will end up with Illia since shes powerful but then he might have an affair with one of his own kind!! Oh the dilemma...

Lmfao love how I turned my post into a love tale!

I call it - The tale of the Scrawny Horny Orc!

Wow, you must be a really tolerant person. :D Njada and her "What guidance could you possibly offer me?" line piss me off so much I've started punching her in the face every time she says it. Fool doesn't even respond. The only time I've ever used her as a follower was to sacrifice her to Boethiah *evil laughter*

It's a role playing game, so you can imagine your character mouthing off at her right back and having bitchy verbal debates together.

well after fighting alongside both Aela and Ria my orc has chosen Ria as his partner so far her fighting style is very compatible with his own and they never worry about friendly fire

Aela would probably appeal more to the average orc.

She's strong and fierce. She loves to hunt, she knows the wilds and she's a renowned warrior.

Her dominant demeanor, prowess in battle and love for the hunt would win her the hearts of many orcish suitors! Or at least the ones that could overlook her sickly pink skin and ugly tusk-less face.

my Orc and Ria have made a sworn pact if either one dies the other will shed their shield and use their own and the others sword in battle using dual wielding I think Ria wont survive longer then my orc
