I'll stick with Android. Never, ever any Apple products for me. EVER!
After having an HTC for two years I swore I'd never buy one ever again. As much as I hate Apple, iphone is the way to go me thinks. Though I agree that Android is a lot more user friendly.

Also in a completely unrelated matter, my phone finally forced me to upgrade to iOS 8 and I think Apple should go die in a fire
Mine just finished updating to 8.1.2. Also, agreed.

I get 10 minutes of battery life now. I came infinitesimally close to slamming my iPhone on the pavement
Well, then you could upgrade to any Android device, and I do mean ANY - even a 5 year old one would be better than iOS!

And the battery lasts a lot longer, and they don't charge for every single thing you do, and they don't limit your data, and you can attach to any WiFi network without jumping through hoops, and the phones aren't so delicate that they'll break when you breath on them, and you don't have to release and have sold all your personal information every time you do something, and... oh I could go on for hours.

You might have guessed I'm a bit of an Apple hater. Those of us who are forced to work with them in the office and maintain our own Androids can really tell the difference.

While I do agree with you I think apple pcs are far worse. The software I'm working with right now only runs on apple and I'm forced to use a mac. Not a day passes without me wanting to smash it and get my laptop.

You should try getting Windows 365 to run on a Mac. Talk about a front door, back door, side door, upside down, back-flip bit of hacking. Sheesh. I always feel so sorry for our IT folks when one of our ja**a** Sales Guys decides he wants to use a Mac instead of a laptop, just 'cause it looks better. FAH!

What type of iphone do you have? Cause I'm with a 5S and its battery is a beast.
4S

Prior to the OS update my battery life lasted forever practically. iOS8 is a steaming sack of doodoo. And by "prior to" I specifically am referring to any time prior to 8 hours ago.

What pisses me off is that I have to shell out a good chunk of cash on a new phone when the current one isn't the problem, it's their craptastic OS update that I had to get. I will spend a chunk of cash on a new phone but it won't be another Apple product. They can kiss my as.....

And that's coming from a long time Mac lover but those have gone to sh!t too

I have been lucky enough to avoid the upgrade because I have an iPhone 4... and if I get that upgrade... my phone will be toast. :O

But anyway, about the thread, I think the forum is definitely slowing down but we have many many members who still pop in and keep this place lively :) I love coming back to visit the Shoutbox and see what recent threads are up, and although I don't visit as often as I used to, I blame college. :D

I would totally get an Android phone because Samsung makes way better phones, but alas... I am shackled to Apple because of my iTunes.

Ya know you can use iTunes w/out using your iPhone, don't ya? I use iTunes on my Android based Kindle Fire all the time. It's just an app after all. I haven't tried to get it on my Moto, but it is an option in the store (I know, a Moto! really? I really should get out of 2012, eh?).

I had a HTC One X for two years, and a Samsung Galaxy before.

The HTC was a welcome upgrade and I really liked it, yet I wanted to try an iPhone. Because I really liked my iPod Touch.

So now I have a iPhone 5c, I waited to get one until the 6 was out a while.. And I am nothing but positive about it. I'm not gonna be an Apple fanboy now, I just like it as much as I liked my HTC when I got it :p

Honestly, my only real issues with the iPhone is that it will break if you breath on it and that everything, and I do mean absolutely everything, is gonna cost you. Nothing is free. I used to have the argument that it was because it was tied exclusively to AT&T (whom I loathe - their an ex-client of mine so I know how the operate), but that's out the window now.
I personally love my Moto. I know it's a bit antiquated and I'll probably go galaxy on my next upgrade (in January), but, as someone who doesn't really use my smart phone for much but facebook, tapatalk and texting, maybe I'm not the best judge. Oh, and of course Grindr and Tinder! :)

Not everything costs money, a lot of apps and games are free. I don't use Grindr and Tinder.

I was kidding on Grindr and Tinder. :) No one is that horny (or at least I hope not!).
I'm not one for playing games or using any apps on my phone. I know it sounds old, but it's just a waste of time and money for me. No slam on those who do though. Go for it if it makes you happy. :)

I think the apple hater in you is speaking. :p There are a lot of free apps, in fact I've yet to pay for one. And iphones are not as breakable as you think. Trust me, I know from personal experience. iOS may suck on many levels, but for me iphones are and will continue to be one step ahead of all other smartphones.

Hardware-wise I actually do like my 4S but Apple's iOS updates seem to always destroy the functionality of it until they come out with a patch to fix the issues which they release 2 weeks before the next iOS update gets pushed out and re-destroys whatever functionality got fixed.

I just have a major gripe with software makers that force out major updates that neither seem to improve existing functionality nor add new features, but make what is already in place worse. Apple isn't the only major player that does that though in all fairness

Don't disagree with you. While I prefer Android, Apple certainly has led the way. There would be no Android without iOS. There simply wouldn't be. The Smart Phone as we know it certainly wouldn't even exist.
As someone that has had to replace over 100 iPhones for my employees at my properties as opposed to perhaps a dozen Android devices, I firmly believe that the iPhone would be even better if it didn't simply disintegrate at a bump. I am always shocked at how easily those screens simply shatter. If I knock my Moto off my desk on to the carpet it's fine. So far I've broken 2 screens on my office iPhones by doing the same thing.
I'm sure that, eventually Apple will address the issue, but, for the time being, there are beaucoup bucks to be made replacing the screens at $200 a pop. :)
Can't say I blame 'em. :)
