Okay, so it doesn't really matter what the guards say, except for these few things.

-They don't know what's going on. Hence why mercenaries have been hired. Basically, they're at the village to make sure no wandering traders/peasants, whatever come across it.

-They have, however, had a look around. Say they've been in the village a few hours now. They've noticed signs of a struggle, half eaten meals inside homes. Basically, you in ME 2 when you're first looking around on that snowy planet I can't remember the name of? That.

    - No corpses, but maybe when Mareks' looking around he finds a few spots of blood. No massive pools, or anything, just like as if there's been a brawl of some sort in some places. I also don't want to give too much away.;)

-After you post, I think I'll move the stragglers to the village as well. Just so we don't need to wait on people to catch up. Orien if you want to post after Marek and have them meet up and take a look around together, that's fine, as long as Marek doesn't object.

-Also, I think it was Oriens character who mentioned it was nightfall, or getting close to it. So. Yeah.

So, basically, it'll be the groups job to do a little detective work. Hopefully I gave you enough to work with, Marek.

@Orien Terrik, I was going to have Marek do some scouting around the perimeter of the village before he moved into it. I assume that Jorunn would be approaching the village from the countryside instead of the road. Would you be alright if Marek chanced up him during his scouting and they proceed into the village together?

Ok, I'm gonna go ahead and post this afternoon. I won't actually interact with Jorunn in my post since I haven't heard from Orien.

Gah, this website is so buggy. I haven't been getting a single alert for this thread, or the IC thread. That is rather annoying. And, yea, I'll probably come from the Country Side, I guess I'll just meet up with you. Or, I noticed that you hadn't posted yet, Andre, so I went ahead, and added onto my original post. I just sort of put something together. If you take a look at that, you can say that you had just arrived and you saw my character entering the village and sort of ignoring everyone, and heading into an abandoned hut, or something of the sort. And we can get it moving along.

Alright, took longer than I thought it would but its up. I figure either Orien posts again and him and Marek work things out without any stabbing and then Shaded can bring the rest of you guys into the village.

Do you want to have your char reply again, Marek, or should the group be catching up? Either one works for me. I just ask because it seems Oriens post wraps things up. Unless you want Jorunn and Marek to speculate a little before the rest of the group shows up.

I might post once more. Just something quick to leave it open for the others to arrive.

Okay, so I posted. Figured it made sense for Marcus to speak with the guards, since he's ex-legion, he'd get along with them best. Oh, and I hope nobody minded me giving the place a name and a little backstory?

I don't mind. I would have give the place a name, if I could've thought of one. I also like how you had the guards explain some tuff to Marcus without giving too much away.

Hey guys. Don't know how many of you remember me from the second version of what lurks in the dark. Was wondering if you'd take a look at a CC? Wanting to get back into roleplaying. And this looks pretty awesome.

Hey Thesius, long time no see! Sure, I'd be happy to look at a CC.

    Thesius

    The Imperial Paladin
    Name: Tyresius Vonn

    Gender: Male

    Age:48

    Race: Imperial

    Class: Paladin

    Alignment: Orderly Good

    Allegiance: Order of Arkay

Appearance: Around six feet, with black shaggy hair and beard, going grey at the roots. His hair reaches to about his jaw, and he has a mid length beard, is also black, though it's going grey at the end. His eyes are a piercing pale blue, and often unnerve even those who consider themselves his allies.

Apparel: Heavy armour. Steel plate, reinforced with leather underneath, slow the effectiveness of weapons, with the symbol of Arkay etched over his heart. His gauntlets are also heavy plate, as are his boots, shin guards, poleyn, shoulder bells...basically, he's covered in steel. Wears a helmet with a slit two fingers wide across the eyes, and three fingers wide from forehead to chin. Symbol of Arkay etched into the steel. A black cloak that he wears over the armour when travelling.

Weapons: Justice, a great sword that's edged with silver, making it especially effective against the undead and werewolves. Over the years, many priests have bestowed blessings upon it, making it deadly against lesser undead, such as draugr and zombies.
Vigilance, a heavy crossbow, that fires oak bolts, with silver tips.

Likes: His armour and weapons. Men of faith. Honesty. Protecting innocents.

    Dislikes:
Evil men and monsters. Liars, assassins.

Religion: Arkay. Despite Arkay being a part of the eight divines, Tyresius only worships him, seeing Arkay as the source of his power.

Abilities: Whenever in the vicinity of evil creatures, Tyresius develops massive, debilitating headaches. Not the best of abilities, but it does give him a heads up when creatures such as vampires or werewolves are nearby.

Personality: The best way to describe Tyresius would be...uncompromising. Once he believes something to be good or evil, he will be set in his ways, and about as movable as a mountain. Distrusts almost everyone, and will be more than happy to sacrifice them for greater good.

History: Born in the city of Cheydinhal, Tyresius saw his parents murdered by a vampire when he was sixteen years old, the young man developed a great hatred for all things unnatural. He trained for years becoming a paladin, recognizing the signs of the vampire and the lycanthrope. After a decade, he left the temple, and began his career, hunting vampires, lycans, and necromancers.

He became known as a hard, cold man, shunning the company of others, in order to complete his quest to rid Tamriel of all manner of unnatural, evil creatures and men. Upon hearing of the mysterious and sinister events in Skyrim, Tyresius was immediately suspicious. He's heard of mysterious disappearances, the most recent of which has occurred in the Reach. Suspecting foul play, he's headed to the most recent village to be hit. Karthstead.

    Text Colour: This, if available.

Okay Thesius, you're accepted, post an intro when you can.

Intro is up. I hope I didn't hold anyone from posting. It took me a little longer to get around to it than I would have liked.

Okay guys, what's going on? I know some of you, like me, have actual real world commitments, but I'd appreciate some sort of heads up before you ditch. I know I sound pissed off and, honestly, I kind of am. This is the second time the story has just...dried up, and we're not even into the good stuff yet. So, BESIDES school, work, (the acceptable excuses), what's the problem?

Is the plot too boring? Not enough, too much mystery/blood shed, or what? Are you guys just not feeling inspired to post here? Like I said, I don't have a problem with you leaving, especially since, like I said, we're not into the thick of it yet. But if you're going to leave, give a little warning so I can figure out how to work it into the rest of the story. Okay? Okay.

Really sorry, Shaded. I don't know that I can post, but I may be able to cobble something together. I don't plan on abandoning this. Marcus still has a part to play. Maybe have him talk with @Thesius if he's still available.

It seems a lot of threads are drying up. I'm still around. I was waiting for one more post before I go again (And I admit, I've had a busy holiday, college Football can be a pain sometimes), but I'm still around.

    The Imperial Paladin
I'm still around too, Shaded, if you'll have me. Just been busy the past couple of months, and haven't had time to get on here.
