100% muffle and invisibility makes even the steed stone irrelevant, aside from the bonus to movement speed.

So, the bonus of one-hundred extra carrying capacity is not relevant when wearing heavy armor? How about having all those available before you get your heavy armor up to level 70, where you have to be to get the conditioning perk? Not to mention the, what 3 or 4 levels you have to focus points directly into heavy armor to get there?

All completely irrelevant, as I am only talking about in terms of stealth. Even if I wasn't...

Carry weight is irrelevant to me, as I am jaded and have thousands of hours invested. I don't loot much. The movement speed is useful, but it can be survived without.

And with Legendary Edition, perks are meh. Back before Legendary was introduced, creating an optimized and versatile character was a nightmare, and I would definitely say the stone was more relevant then.

So, if I am understanding you correctly, having the perk of a character with 70 in heavy armor earlier is irrelevant? You are only concerned with the stealth side of role playing, and just want the early extra protection afforded to heavy armor wearers? No need for the extra carrying capacity, or the weightlessness of the armor, just the protection?

First, role-playing is absolutely irrelevent to what I am saying. Second, getting it earlier is irrelevant to my playstyle, I typically find the Guardian Stones found at the beginning of the game to be much more valuable. They help a lot in the long term, and cut down on grinding. Third, the point of what I was saying is purely concerned with stealth aspects, to which the steed stone is not needed for with muffle and invisibility involved. And finally, yes. You are more or less correct.

Light armor for me. Doesn't take up much weight.

I like both, Nightengale Armour for my Assassin and enchanted Daedric for my Orc.

I switch between the two styles/characters as the challenge diminishes. I find no joy in being an invulnerable divinity, I love the sheer breathlessness of knowing a wrong move could be the end (not enough to agree to Dead is Dead though, maybe in time. TES VI?)

Personally I most of the times like a mix, unless I have the dark brotherhood armor, but I can't wait until I get 90 and 100 for daedric and dragon

I love both, but I seem to prefer light armor. It does depend on the builds I do.
