PC "Halos" around candles, Nirnroot and Meridia

Nexus forums were of no help whatsoever (even the mods fail at basic reading comprehension...), so I'll try asking for help here.
Because I'm lazy, I'm just gonna copy/paste my post from the Nexus forums:

I've fairly recently noticed this problem, no idea what's causing it. Basically, all candles [plus Nirnroot and Meridia] have multiple "halos" around them. These "halos" flicker as the flame flickers, which makes them even more noticeable.
For whatever reason they aren't visible in screenshots (I uploaded a few, and saw nothing unusual), just in-game.
When I tried out a "more realistic candle flame" mod, the "halos" changed from jagged to round but were still present.

Lighting-related mods I use: ELFX, Pure Weather and Imaginator. I do NOT use an ENB, just ENBoost. All are latest versions, even the ENB binaries.

Things I have tried without success:
- disabling various combinations of the aforementioned mods/their different plugins
- starting new games
- starting new games with NOTHING except the DLC, unofficial patches and Alternate Start enabled (I even uninstalled ENBoost)
- reinstalling the entire game (as in uninstalling on Steam AND deleting the entire Skyrim folder)
- changing mod managers (MO -> NMM -> MO)
- messing with anti-aliasing settings (disabled in Skyrim launcher and forced through graphic card, and vice versa)
- changing my monitor's settings
- verifying the integrity of the game cache
- installing an ENB
- changing to various, older ENB binaries for ENBoost

My .ini files are 99% unmodified, and what few changes/additions I have made (disabling the Bethesda logo thingy on startup, iMinGrassSize, archery tweaks, bAllowCreateGrass, bAllowLoadGrass and TreesReceiveShadows) have absolutely nothing to do with the problem.

I have googled this issue thoroughly, but haven't found anyone with the same problem.

Any ideas/suggestions?

PS. When I tried out the Moon Glow mod, Masser and Secunda received halos as well.
