Augmented soldiers also (I believe) receive 50% less XP from kills, so it's best off to augment higher-rank soldiers. As for gene mods, a sniper can easily be modded almost immediately; depth perception is fantastic if you use damn good ground, as it gives you even more height bonus. Then, you can make that height bonus easier to get by getting muscle fiber density (from thin men).

    Name: Ben Graham

    Age: 26

    Dialogue Color: Sand

    Gender: Male

    Ethnicity: American

    Squad Role: (Non-Medical) Support

Appearance: 6 foot two, Short dirty blonde hair. Well-defined facial features with a muscular body. Well shaved.

Personality: He is naturally trusting and easy to get along with. However, he is ruthless in hurting those who betray his trust. He gives off the feeling of confidence and strength.

Positive: Easy to get along with and talk to, innovative

Negative: Wants things done his way

    Likes: Sports, activity, flight

    Dislikes: Inaction

Back-story: Rangers lead the way. And the 75th Ranger Regiment leads the Rangers. These troops are the Special Operations regiment of the Rangers, and Ben Graham is a member of Squad Alpha.

Ben was born to traditional parents; father went off to work every weekday, mother stayed at home to take care of the household. He was an athletic child, playing on both baseball and football teams all the way through High School. He excelled in Academics as well, but his only interest was to join the military. At the age of eighteen, he enlisted.

He passed training with flying colors, and two years later he entered into Ranger Recruitment. For the pat six years, he has spent much of his time in Iraq & Afghanistan, often with only twenty to thirty other rangers with him deep into the worst places for American Soldiers. He has heard bullets whiz by him more time than are countable, yet he has kept his positive outlook on life.

Ben and his platoon were deep in the mountains of Afghanistan, investigating strange sightings in the area when he came upon the surprise of his life. He was recruited to XCOM shortly after.

(I plan to include this 'surprise' in the first post of the in-character thread, upon acceptance. If that's all right.)

Why am I getting alerts now?

Wow, this is rather Annoying. This site is so buggy. It says I got an alert that Sim posted, so I went to check it out, and it was a post that was before mine, and it showed my post last. I am so confused, haha.

So, no surprise, the site is not letting me edit. So until it does:

Equipment: Standard issue XCOM armor, Assault Rifle, dual pistols, smoke grenade

Holy christ, this is absurd. This is more disorienting than watching optical illusions in a glass maze 50 feet in the air while drunk.

Very nice CC, Sky. I'll be happy to let you join (BTW have you read all the IC thread so far? I know I need to catch up. Just so you know what your doing in your intro).

In terms of your ranking question, the rule when enlisting into XCOM (like in the game) you automatically begin as a Rookie, regardless of past military history. I want to make the survivability rate against the aliens a bit more realistic.

    My background is all red...

Does anybody know if this is happening in other threads, or is this just an isolated Incident?

I am working on my IC post as we speak. Hopefully when I finish it doesn't just disappear.

I haven't been using other threads, this is the only one that's got people posting in it atm. And I haven't got a red background.

I'm starting to think the Aliens just don't want this thread to exist.

Everyones name is Red, as are all the buttons on the alert row. Text looks larger than usual, & is unusually white.
& as my tablet has just reset everything seems back to normal. Maybe I just got Mind-frayed.
Oh, yes. Feel free to post Sky.

Well that took forever. Hope you guys enjoy it. I tried to make the military part as realistic as possible from whatever bits I know of the military.

Yeah, it is really buggy. I just got an alert from this post, 4 hours later. And this is also the first time I saw it.

Very nice intro Sky, but for future reference make sure to check with other Roleplayers before scripting dialouge for their characters. This links in with rule 2 found at the start.
Other than that though, thanks for resuming the story & keeping up with the atmosphere. Thats probably near enough the lines I would have gone with.

I don't know how to give a Like, but I am trying to post up the beginning of my Fan Fic, and still require a Like : Post Ratio of above 0%. I also still need a like. If y'all could help me with this, I would appreciate it very much.

The like option was removed (for some reason). Is this on your blog or something? If so you could write it in the Skyrim Fanfiction forum (just below Roleplaying).

This is for the Fan Fiction Forum, it says that for me to make a Thread, I need to have at least one like, and my like : post ratio must exceed 0% :/

I did not write anyone any dialogue that was not previously posted, except for Duncan but I really thought it seemed to fit everything else he had said.

I felt making up two lines of dialogue was well worth it to avoid any wait that I'd have to do in order to have you post, then for me to post again moving him along. That'd have slowed the RP down a lot, and would have made me even more behind in interacting with the rest of the squad if they were to post again.

This is a new Roleplay. Call me optimistic, but I really dont think we need to worry about the speed of the story right now. & regardless of whether that dialouge had already been said, you have denied other Roleplayers the chance to interact with your character using their own choice of wording. Perhaps the owners of these characters dont mind a little light scripting on your behalf, but failure to even mention your plans in the OOC prior to your post means that it qualifies at Meta-gaming. When you joined this RP you were agreeing to not do this among other things, I assumed you read the rules at the start?
Please notify people in the future if you plan to script their Characters. This is nothing major, but I merely wish to clearly establish the rules set.

As for your problem Terrik, maybe try contacting an admin?
