My style usually ends up being dual-wield so not technically either option, but being as how blocking is sacrificed for the most part by that choice, I picked 2-hand as it's the same basic all-offense concept.

Once I am far enough along w/ skill progression where damage amount differences are negligible, I tend to switch to 1-handed and other hand is either free or possibly using magic. 1-handed weapon animations are typically better and more varied than the 2-hand ones IMHO.

What are we supposed to vote on? There's not even a question here: "Two handed vs one handed shield on master difficulty" - which is easier? Which is harder? Which is more fun? Which looks stupider if you do it wearing a goat on each foot? Which is J'Zargo better at? Which one do you hate more because fire mage is obviously vastly superior to both? Which do you prefer for sexy-fun-time with Aela? Which is better for decorative purposes in all the weapon racks if you get the armory? You've given a choice of answers but no question, and the only time that's allowed is if one of the answers is 42.

So long, and thanks . . .

Yeah, you needed more choices in your poll! I find two-handed too slow until you've taken a lot of perks. That being said, I still use it when I'm just toying around with lesser beings like bandits and lower-level draugr. I usually use one-handed with destruction. But I do like a shield, again, if I've taken a lot of blocking perks. The kill cams you get with a shield and sword/mace/war-axe are better than the kill cams you get with a two-handed weapon, so there is that.

Playstyle? Survival and not recklessness on Master or Legendary probs, Im rolling with pretty much every perk in block and high one handed, both at 90. Although Im gathering a huge strong party with dead thrall so I tend to loot while my allies sweep the floor with mobs,Master and above still a great challenge. Depends on ur playstyle though, going in guns blazing 2 handed could get u 1 shotted by an ice storm if u got squishy resistances.

I never played either build on master difficulty, however I will say that two-hand weapons take a lot of stamina to really pull off correctly. You can block with 2hand just not as effectively but it does make you feel all macho and chyte when you power strike someone with it though.

I like to throw a few spells before I go mono on mono. Gives me an idea of should I run away or fight before I'm up close.

I never played on master, simply because I have a problem with the bullet/damage sponge effect. I would say 1h and Shield would be the easiest to use on it.

Everything is relative, depending on what you're good at or prefer. What I like should have no bearing on your choices. But one thing is clear, one method is not "Better" than the other at any level.

I like both the Two-handed tank conjuring an ally or two, and the Archer Assassin that uses fire magic if the fight gets too close. It all depends on how I feel that day.

What is the bullet/damage sponge effect?
