I was playing Skyrim earlier tonight and my character kept on dying. I lost my temper by grabbing my wireless mouse, and viciously threw it across my bedroom hitting my wall. It broke into tiny little pieces. After realizing what i've done, and that I was left without a mouse I panic, and went to a nearby office store to replace my broken wireless mouse.

I was wondering if this happens to anyone else here? Do you have a Gaming rage?

Used to. Now I make it a point to stop playing if I'm getting angry. This goes double for online games, lest I wind up on YouTube.

Usually when I get mad during a game it's about something else. I have thrown controllers in the past. Also threw my mouse at the computer screen. It can get expensive.

You have no idea how many controllers I've broken throughout the years lol.

That's why I would never invite friends over to play video games, I won't play video games over my friends house either. Playing video games is a private event for me considering the fact that I don't want my friends recording my rage and uploading it on youtube for all to see :D

I'd watch you, Raij. :) <3

Call me.

I've been frustrated before...like getting stuck on a quest/mission etc. I try not to because I realize that its pointless. Especially if I figure it out quickly.

Do you have a Gaming rage?

Not as badly as I used to but yes, I have gaming rage. It actually started with coding rage as a wee lass, when I tossed my Atari 800xl because my program wouldn't run right (because I hadn't written it right).

Fighting games were the worst for me. I bet I killed a dozen NES and SNES controllers playing Mortal Kombat and Street Fighter, and I was once thrown out of an arcade for my reaction to getting pwned on Primal Rage.

Now I'm more likely to just yell and stop playing for a few minutes. If I do throw the controller or mouse I throw it onto the couch, and still feel like an ass afterward for having done it.

And I now have tremendous patience when programming and code auditing. Haven't smashed a keyboard in a decade! :D

Strangely Ive never raged, ive been frustrated at times in competative games like fighting or Fifa and in those cases I might bite the bullet or bottle it in so to speak. But you win some, lose some, and your stronger than others if you can take a loss and not rage - or win and not rub it in someones face.

I watch other people get angry now and have realized how it does nothing to help solve improvement, that takes optimism - to think why your losing and focus on learning & getting better - games like skyrim no one should get angry at, because its not a simple minded game, theres so much details, information to take in - its not like football or shooting games where theres only Win/Lose.

although i've never gotten violent due to gaming, my past gaming addiction did result in a lot of ragequitting and lashing out (verbally) at my poor husband >___> i eventually managed to cease the addiction by going cold turkey and then gradually easing my way back into gaming. if i felt myself getting angrier than i should over a game, then i would just stop playing for at least a day to cool off and only go back to it if i felt i was really fine.

I rage quit a game for weeks..then forget and come back to it..only to get frustrated again.

I say things like... "F*********K!" or "MOVE YOU IDIOT!" or my most favourite "GGRRR!!"

I try to make a point of not abusing my controller though, as I can't afford to buy a new one. :D

I used to curse up a storm whenever I died in a game.

I mean, I still do that, but I try not to be so... egregious about it.

Oh yes. I am what you call a "Rage Gamer". I have raged for just about every game I have ever played. I used to beat the crap out of stuff and throw things when I was younger, now I just yell and curse a lot. I'm working on it, though, lol.

I yell a lot usually, but mostly to exaggerate frustration so it doesn't spill over into other life spheres. Especially when I stream but I would say I get frustrated but dont go ballistic because physical lashing out is like "mental meltdown" defcon for me. I usually hide it from teammates (in game chat I say it is fine, IRL I go "Oh my fluffing GOD!!! *Into a frothy mouth tirade of how they are inferior and deserve to be cleansed*
